Rundāle, Rauna and Ropsha face similar problems: the potential of existing cultural heritage is not used in full extent; lack of appropriate infrastructure for tourism service development or in bad condition; lack of supplemental tourism service offer because insufficient activity of local entrepreneurs in tourism sector. Through cross-border cooperation it is planned to increase attractiveness of Partners’ territories by stimulating active and more effective use of existing resources (culture and historical heritage, local society, local entrepreurship) to develop sustainable tourism offer. The planned activities combine improvement of infrastructure, purchase of equipment, establishment of innovative mobile guides and realisation of new joint tourism offer “Time Travel” – sequel of cultural tourism pilot events through mutual cross-border cooperation. Mentioned targeted activities and promotion will increase number of visitors.

Rundāles, Raunas un Ropšas pašvaldības saskaras ar līdzīgām problēmām – esošā kultūras mantojuma potenciāls nav pilnībā izmantots; trūkst atbilstošas infrastruktūras tūrisma pakalpojumu attīstībai, vai arī esošā ir sliktā stāvoklī; nepietiekamas tūrisma sektora vietējo uzņēmēju aktivitātes dēļ trūkst papildinoši tūrisma pakalpojumi. Sadarbojoties pārrobežu mērogā plānots uzlabot Rundāles, Raunas un Ropšas pašvaldību pievilcību, tādējādi stimulējot aktīvu un efektīvāku esošo resursu izmantošanu (kultūras un vēsturisko mantojumu, vietējo sabiedrību un uzņēmējdarbību) tiks attīstīts ilgtspējīgs tūrisma piedāvājums. Projekta ietvaros plānotās aktivitātes apvieno infrastruktūras uzlabošanu, aprīkojuma iegādi un inovatīvu mobilo gidu uzstādīšanu, kā arī kopīgā tūrisma piedāvājuma - pārrobežu kultūras tūrisma pilotpasākumu virknes “Ceļojums laikā” realizāciju. Minētās mērķtiecīgās aktivitātes palielinās teritorijas apmeklētāju skaitu.

Рундале, Рауна и Ропша муниципалитеты - сталкиваются с аналогичными проблемами - существующий потенциал культурного наследия не полностью эксплуатируется; отсутствие адекватной инфраструктуры для развития туристических услуг; или существующие находится в плохом состоянии; из-за отсутствия активности местных предприятий в туристическом секторе не хватает дополнительных туристических услуг. Планируется повысить привлекательность муниципалитетов Рундале, Рауна и Ропаса на трансграничной основе, тем самым стимулируя активное и эффективное использование существующих ресурсов (культурное и историческое наследие, местное сообщество и предпринимательство) для развития предложений по устойчивому туризму. В рамках проекта запланированные мероприятия включают в себя улучшение инфраструктуры, закупку оборудования и установку инновационных мобильных гидов, а также реализацию серии «Велотурных туров» серии пилотных событий межкультурного культурного туризма. Эти целевые мероприятия увеличат количество посетителей в этом районе.

Expected Results (EN):

Joint tourism offer: "Time travel" will be established. The tourism offer will present 3 different historical eras in each of Partnering municipalities presenting sequell of 4 joint cultural tourism public pilot events: 1. Mežotne Hillfort festival, presenting 8-13 century. 2. Rauna Castle Medieval days, presenting … century. 3. Re-enactment of events of 2nd World War in Ropsha. 4. Ropsha culinary Festival “Nourishing Day”. By improving tourism infrastructure, introducing mobile guides based on new ICT technologies as well as organising joint events will increase attractiveness of Partners’ territories. Through targeted marketing + promotional activities as well as organised annual festivals it is planned to increase number of visitors: - Rundāle + 5600 visitors. - Rauna + 5600. - Ropsha + 5800.

Expected Outputs (EN):

Beneficiaries: 1. Rundāle Local Municipality. 2. Rauna Local Municipality. 3. Ropsha Municipality. By developing the existing infrastructure – culture historical resources, the attractiveness of territory will improve. On basis of developed infrastructure new tourism offer will be created, thus together with planned business warming activities “Be smart and active!” stimulating increase of economic vitality not only in local but also in regional context. 1. By reconstruction of Mežotne Church Tower the surrounding of Mežotne Hillfort what is archaeological monument with national significance (No 354) will be improved. 2. Rauna Medieval Castle is archaeological monument with national significance (No 541). By conservation of Castle inner walls the access to object will be ensured for visitors. 3. By establishment of RopshaFest Ground the necessary circumstances for organisation of large events will be ensured.
