Description (EN):

The project´s main objective is to support the effective and efficient EUSDR implementation. By fostering the linkages among relevant stakeholders and with more effective use of valuable assets and advantages of different regions, PA8 aims to achieve a better coordination among different actors and to better involve key stakeholders in the activities of the PA 8. one of the challanges of the priority area is the lack of own financial instruments which could support it´s stakeholders. In order to provide our partners with realistic financial solutions, the PA8 plans to start a "financial dialog" with the relevant Managing Authorities. Through this excersice the PA8 will foster the better embedding of the aims of the EUSDR into further funding programmes. As the past experiences showed, some topics need to be addressed on policy level, therefore the PA8 also intends to prepare thematic policy papers in order to urge the decision makers in each Danube country to support their SMEs in this respect. However the Action Plan is not approved yet, and it is very difficult to identify which main topics we exactly will intensively foster, the project aims to address emerging topics (like digitalization, artificial intelligence etc.), those having high relevance for the SMEs in the Danube region. Through a planned high level meeting and through the inclusion of public authorities repsonsible for funding programmes, the PA8 hopes for a higher political committment towards the EUSDR. A more intensive inclusion of SMEs is also foreseen within the project. Based on the experience of the last three years it become obvious, that not only the inclusion of intermediaries, but the direct dialog with SMEs is neccesarry. Therefore the PA8 also plans to organise a so called "exchange programme" for SMEs, in order to learn their needs and provide them with an adequate exchange platform.

Expected Results (EN): The status of management capacities of Priority Area Coordinators (PAC) to effectively implement EUSDR goals, targets and key action (survey composite indicator)

Expected Outputs (EN):

The expected main Project Result is an improved governance of PA8 by enhanced PA8 Coordinator capacities regards better coordination between PA´s actors (political/administrative/expert level and SMEs), the usage and inclusion of ongoing projects with strategic relevance for PA8 as well as a stronger focus on the support of policy development through concrete policy recommendations and the preparation of relevant policy initiatives. The sound implementation of the ambitious EUSDR goals, targets and key actions of PA8 highly depends on the management capabilities of the PACs in terms of an effective utilization and strategic consolidation of synergies of ongoing projects (e.g. DTP-projects, COSME, H2020 etc.) as well as on the successfull embedding of the PA8 objectives in different funding programmes. At the same time a stronger coordination of the complex structure of decision-makers, business supporters, intermediaries and other stakeholders has to be ensured as their input and identification with PA8 targets is an important success factor. Thus the main Project Result is clearly focused on these assets and all outputs and activities of the PA8 project are directly linked to this targeted result.
