In order to make optimal use of electricity from fluctuating renewable energy (ERF), minimise emissions and ensure security of supply; the concept of “regional energy cell” must be developed, simulated and demonstrated. Inside the mesh, ERF productions can be optimised by intelligent production, network and load control. Thus the losses in the transport networks but also the reinforcements of the networks will be reduced. Surplus ERFs that cannot be recovered locally will be traded between mesh sizes in such a way that ERF productions should never be interrupted.

Afin d’utiliser de façon optimale l’électricité produite à partir des énergies renouvelables fluctuantes (ERf), de minimiser des émissions et de garantir la sécurité de l’approvisionnement; le concept de «cellule énergétique régionale» doit être élaboré, simulé et démontré. A l’intérieur du maillage, les productions des ERf peuvent être optimisées par une commande intelligente de la production, du réseau et de la charge. Ainsi les pertes au niveau des réseaux de transport mais aussi les renforcements des réseaux se réduiront. Les surplus d’ERf qui ne peuvent être valorisés localement seront échangés entre les maillages de telle manière que les productions d’ERf ne devraient jamais être bridées.

Achievements (EN):

After modeling the four energy cells for the Metz, Eastern Belgium, Remich and Trier regions and their development by 2030, various simulations were carried out with real production and consumption data in order to draw conclusions on the optimal use of the different flexibility options. The different load profiles were transmitted by 15-minute ranges to an energy flow management and balance perimeter management system that has been integrated into the control and control station of the Régie de Triers. The software used was specially adapted to the needs of the project (simulations and extrapolation in the future) because the software publisher had designed it for only operational use. The simulations were mainly focused on the management of the equilibrium perimeters, the control of the different units and they were oriented in order to keep the balance of the energy balance as close as possible. The main objective is to reduce the purchase of energy, to increase the share of renewable energy (R) that can be used at regional level and to better balance the different energy cells.

Après avoir modélisé les quatre cellules énergétiques pour les régions de Metz, de l'Est de la Belgique, de Remich et de Trèves et leur développement à l’horizon 2030, diverses simulations ont été réalisées avec des données de production et de consommation réelles afin de tirer des conclusions sur l'utilisation optimale des différentes options de flexibilité. Les différents profils de charge ont été transmis par plages de 15 minutes à un système de gestion de flux d'énergie et de gestion de périmètre d’équilibre qui a été intégré dans le poste de commande et de contrôle de la Régie de Trèves. Le logiciel utilisé a été spécialement adapté au besoin du projet (simulations et leur extrapolation dans l’avenir) car l’éditeur du logiciel l'avait conçu pour un usage uniquement opérationnel. Les simulations ont été principalement axées sur la gestion des périmètres d'équilibre, le contrôle des différentes unités et elles étaient orientées afin de permettre de maintenir au plus proche l’équilibre du bilan énergétique. L'objectif principal est de réduire l'achat d'énergie, d'augmenter la part des énergies renouvelables (EnR) utilisables au niveau régional et d’équilibrer au mieux les différentes cellules énergétiques.
