As part of this project, we will develop a new laser additive manufacturing (FA) process that covers the entire value chain from the design to the manufacturing of a high-value industrial prototype. The solutions developed in the project will be validated by the realisation of a demonstrator dedicated to the aeronautical sector and will be deployed in the existing FA platform at the Institut de Soudure, in order to establish a reference at international level. The platform will facilitate the integration of FAFIL technology within SMEs in the Greater Region. To do this, this project will bring together the key means and skills in welding, metallurgy, robotics, topological optimisation, numerical simulation and completion available in the Greater Region. Beyond the solutions developed, this project will promote cohesion and cross-border cooperation, in the field of FAfil, through the creation of a long-term network of excellence.

Dans le cadre de ce projet, nous développerons un nouveau procédé de fabrication additive (FA) par laser qui couvre l’ensemble de la chaîne de valeur depuis la conception jusqu’à la fabrication d’un prototype industriel à forte valeur ajoutée. Les solutions développées dans le projet seront validées par la réalisation d’un démonstrateur dédié au secteur aéronautique et seront déployées dans la plateforme FA existante à l’Institut de Soudure, afin d’établir une référence au niveau international. La plateforme facilitera l’intégration de la technologie FAFIL au sein des PME de la Grande Région. Pour ce faire, ce projet réunira les moyens et les compétences clés en soudage, métallurgie, robotique, optimisation topologique, simulation numérique et parachèvement disponibles dans la Grande Région. Au-delà des solutions développées, ce projet favorisera la cohésion et la coopération transfrontalière, dans le domaine de la FAfil, par la création d’un réseau d’excellence pérenne.

Das CRITT TJFU freut sich, Ihnen die Ergebnisse dieser neuesten Arbeiten im Rahmen des Projekts FAFil - Additive Fertigung durch Drahtabscheidung - vorstellen zu können: - In den letzten Monaten haben die Teams an der Entwicklung eines innovativen koaxialen Kopfes für die additive Laser-Draht-Fertigung gearbeitet. - Diese Forschungen führten zu einem neuen Doppelinjektionskopf mit Argon-Niedertemperaturkühlung. - Numerische FluentÒ-Simulationen wurden von CRITT TJFU durchgeführt, um die Verteilung der Volumenanteile von Argon und Luft in der Nähe der heißen Wand zu untersuchen. - Die gesamten Ergebnisse der verschiedenen Simulationen bewiesen, dass es eine deutliche Verbesserung des Argonflusses des neuen konischen TCDI-Kopfes (Video 2)im Vergleich zum aktuellen Kopf (Video 1) gibt. Dadurch wurden weniger Störungen des Argonflusses und eine höhere Deckungshöhe der FAFIL-Wand erreicht Entwurf des Prototyps des koaxialen FAFil-Kopfes (TCDI). Ziele: Reduzieren Sie geometrische Fehler, Verbesserung der mechanisch-metallurgischen Eigenschaften von FAFIL-Teilen, - Das CRITT TJFU arbeitet am Design und der Integration des Kühlsystems in Kopplung mit der Inertisierung. - Das CRITT TJFU entwickelte einen originellen Ansatz unter Verwendung numerischer SolidWorks- und Fluent-Simulationen, mit dem die besten Konfigurationen des Jets mit der Hybridfunktion: Inertisierung und Kühlung, der endgültigen Geometrie des koaxialen Doppelinjektionskopfes (TCDI) ermittelt werden konnten. Entwurf und 3D-Druck von Prototypen des koaxialen FAFil-Kopfes (TCDI). Ziele: Prototypen des koaxialen Kopfes anfertigen und dafür das Design basierend auf dem von CRIT TJFU modellierten Unterteil fertigstellen. Sirris modellierte also den oberen Teil, um die Steckverbinder aufzunehmen, die Befestigungslaschen, um ihn in den Précitec-Kopf zu integrieren, sowie einige Anpassungen aufgrund der Einschränkungen des 3D-Drucks. - Sirris druckte dann die ersten Prototypen aus Polyamid durch Selective Laser Sintering, für Validierungsversuche durch CRITT TJFU, zunächst ohne Laser. Für die ersten Wandbauversuche (diesmal mit Laser) wurde eine Zwischenversion hergestellt, bei der der untere Teil aus Aluminium (durch Laser Beam Melting) und der obere Teil aus PA bestand. Nach Validierungsversuchen und eventuellen Änderungen wird Sirris per LBM eine einteilige Version aus Edelstahl 316L oder TA6V drucken, um sie unter realen Bedingungen zu testen.

The CRITT TJFU is pleased to present the results of this latest work within the FAFil project — Additive Manufacturing by Wire Deposition: — In recent months, the teams have been working on developing an innovative coaxial head for additive laser wire manufacturing. — These researches led to a new double injection head with argon low-temperature cooling. — Numerical fluents simulations were performed by CRITT TJFU to investigate the distribution of the volume fractions of argon and air near the hot wall. — The entire results of the various simulations proved that there is a significant improvement in the argon flow of the new conical TCDI head (video 2) compared to the current head (video 1). As a result, less disturbances of the argon flow and a higher coverage height of the FAFIL wall were achieved. Design of the FAFil coaxial head (TCDI) prototype. Objectives: Reduce geometric errors, Improvement of the mechanical-metallurgical properties of FAFIL parts, — The CRITT TJFU works on the design and integration of the cooling system in coupling with inertisation. — The CRITT TJFU developed an original approach using numerical SolidWorks and Fluent simulations, using the best configurations of the jet with the hybrid function: Inertisation and cooling, the final geometry of the coaxial double injection head (TCDI) could be determined. Design and 3D printing of FAFil coaxial head prototypes (TCDI). Objectives: Create prototypes of the coaxial head and finalise the design based on the lower part modeled by CRIT TJFU. So Sirris modeled the upper part to accommodate the connectors, the fastening tabs to integrate it into the Précitec head, as well as some adjustments due to the limitations of 3D printing. — Sirris then printed the first polyamide prototypes by Selective Laser Sintering, for validation tests by CRITT TJFU, initially without lasers. For the first wall construction tests (this time with laser) an intermediate version was produced in which the lower part was made of aluminium (by laser beam melting) and the upper part was made of PA. After validation attempts and any changes, Sirris will print a one-piece version of stainless steel 316L or TA6V via LBM to test them under real conditions.
