This cooperation project aims to facilitate and enable territories, having different legislative and regulatory situations in terms of the creation of marine parks and reserves, to join forces to: — facilitate the migration of marine mammals in the ecological corridor of the West Indies, — improve the effectiveness of the management of marine protected areas for marine mammals. This by creating a network between marine area managers and protected marine parks in the Caribbean for the preservation of marine mammals. Overall objective: In particular, the CARI'MAM cooperation project aims at: Networking of marine protected areas dedicated to the preservation of marine mammals in the Greater Caribbean and beyond; Strengthening the skills of managers; Development of common management and evaluation tools; Supporting the development of a commercial animal-friendly and sustainable cetacean observation offer, at the scale of the Greater Caribbean and beyond, The implementation of the draft partnership agreements with Dutch and Dominican sanctuaries.

Ce projet de coopération vise à faciliter et permettre à des territoires, ayant des situations législatives et réglementaires différentes en termes de création de parcs et réserves marines, d’unir leur force pour: - faciliter la migration des mammifères marins dans le corridor écologique des Antilles, - améliorer l'efficacité de la gestion des aires marines protégées pour les mammifères marins. Ceci en créant un réseau entre gestionnaires d’aires marines et parcs marins protégés de la Caraïbe pour la préservation des mammifères marins. Objectif global: Le projet de coopération CARI’MAM vise plus particulièrement : La mise en réseaux des aires marines protégées dédiées à la préservation des mammifères marins de la Grande Caraïbe et au-delà; Le renforcement des compétences des gestionnaires; Le développement d’outils communs de gestion et d’évaluation; L’accompagnement du développement d’une offre commerciale d’observation des cétacés respectueuse des animaux et durable, à l’échelle de la Grande Caraïbe et au-delà, La mise en œuvre des projets d’accords de partenariat avec les sanctuaires néerlandais et dominicains.
