Description (EN):

The project is located in Poland in the District of Krosno, the Miejsce Piastowe Commune and in Ukraine in the town of Zhovkva, Lviv region. The project is an answer for the following problems: - low level of use of the potential of cultural heritage for social and economic development (tourism), - very low social awareness of the cultural heritage, traditional regional cuisine among the societies represented by the project partners, - lack of a sense of neighboring community among the inhabitants of the Polish-Ukrainian borderland. The main project’s task are: - presenting to the partners and inhabitants of the border areas the rich cultural and historical heritage; - presenting how to use the cultural heritage in tourism development. The project aims for preservation and dissemination of the cultural heritage of Miejsce Piastowe Comunne and the town of Zhovkva, by creating common Polish-Ukrainian Cultural Meetings. This way the project will achieve the overall objective: Raising the level of sustainable use of cultural values by residents and tourists in the southern part of the Polish-Ukrainian border; and the specific objectives. The project will create new products such as Polish-Ukrainian Cultural Meetings in Rogi and Zhovkva, that will become cyclical cross-border events.

Expected Results (EN): Increased number of visitors of the historical heritage and cultural sites (baseline value - 48 000, target value - 48 800)

Expected Outputs (EN):

Number of improved cultural and historical sites as direct consequence of programme support (ENI/CBC 7) - 1. Number of cross-border cultural events organized using ENI support (ENI/CBC 8) - 2. Number of participants of cross-border cultural events organized with the support of ENI funding - 6000. Number of publications describing cultural and historical heritage - 1.
