The SAVASCO project aims to structure a cross-border construction sector based on maize and sunflower stems. Today, insulating building materials are in fact mainly derived from non-renewable raw materials of mineral or petroleum origin, whose extraction and transformation induce major environmental impacts, particularly in terms of greenhouse gas emissions. greenhouse and energy consumption. However, the physical characteristics of some agricultural waste such as corn stalks and sunflower give them thermal insulation performance and hygric regulation sought to formulate building materials. In addition, these biobased raw materials are renewable, local and constitute carbon sinks. Thus, the objective of SAVASCO would be to contribute to the development of an innovative and sustainable economic sector in the building sector. Cross-border cooperation has created a consortium of laboratories and companies to achieve the following results: - development of low-cost rod collection and transformation processes. - the multiphysical, environmental and economic characterization of the plant aggregates produced. - the formulation, implementation and characterization of the use and environmental performance of innovative building materials developed. - the construction of two instrumented cells valued as tools for research, training and communication from a constructive solution mostly biobased. - the identification and networking of the various actors in the sector.

El proyecto SAVASCO pretende estructurar un sector de la construcción transfronterizo basado en tallos de maíz y girasol. Hoy en día, los materiales aislantes que se usan derivan principalmente de materias primas no renovables de origen mineral o fósil, cuya extracción y transformación tiene importantes impactos ambientales. Sin embargo, las características físicas de ciertos residuos agrícolas, como son los tallos de maíz y girasol, permiten el desarrollo de aislantes térmicos con propiedades adecuadas para para su uso en construcción. Además, estas materias primas de base biológica son renovables, locales y constituyen sumideros de C02. Así, el objetivo de SAVASCO será contribuir al desarrollo, en el territorio transfronterizo, de una filial económica innovadora y sostenible en el sector de la construcción. La cooperación transfronteriza ha permitido la formación de un consorcio de laboratorios y empresas para conseguir los siguientes resultados: - el desarrollo de procesos de recogida y transformación de tallos de bajo coste. - caracterización multifísica, ambiental y económica de los agregados vegetales producidos. - la formulación, aplicación y caracterización y el análisis del impacto medioambiental de los materiales de construcción. - la construcción de dos prototipos instrumentalizados valorizados como herramientas de investigación y de apoyo a la formación y a la comunicación. - la identificación y puesta en red de los distintos agentes del sector.

Le projet SAVASCO vise à structurer une filière de construction transfrontalière à base de tiges de maïs et de tournesol. Aujourd’hui, les matériaux de construction isolants sont en effet majoritairement issus de matières premières non renouvelables d’origine minérale ou pétrolière, dont l’extraction et la transformation induisent des impacts environnementaux majeurs. Or, les caractéristiques physiques de certains déchets agricoles tels que les tiges de maïs et de tournesol leur confèrent des performances d’isolation thermique et de régulation hygrique. De plus ces matières premières biosourcées sont renouvelables, locales et constituent des puits de carbone. L’objectif de SAVASCO sera de contribuer au développement, sur le territoire transfrontalier, d’une filière économique innovante et durable dans le secteur du bâtiment. La coopération transfrontalière a permis de constituer un consortium de laboratoires et d’entreprises afin d’atteindre les résultats suivants : - le développement de procédés de collecte et de transformation des tiges à coût modéré. - la caractérisation multiphysique, environnementale et économique des granulats végétaux produits. - la formulation, mise en œuvre et caractérisation des performances - la construction de deux cellules instrumentées valorisées comme outils de recherche, de formation et de communication à partir d’une solution constructive majoritairement biosourcée. - l’identification et la mise en réseau des différents acteurs de la filière.
