German-Polish Cross-border Centre for Natural and Cultural Heritage of the Middle Oder Valley

The project responds to the challenge described in the cooperation agreement: Preserving nature & cultural heritage. The border region Mittlere Oder RMO is a peripheral region, away from metropolitan areas in the shadow of the Berlin, Szczecin and Poznan metropolises. On the Pole. This region forms municipalities of the LK Myśliborski u. Gryfiński, on the second side of the LK Barnim and Märkisch-Oderland. With its numerous nature reserves, architectural treasures from the Slavic Middle Ages, monasteries and wall complexes, the history of the Orders and a cultural diversity characterised by hiking movements of various ethnicities, the RMO has an enormous natural and cultural heritage. Unfortunately, this heritage has little recognition and recognition for residents and guests of the RMO, which is reflected in weak economic development, lack of investors and population migration. Few residents, guests and investors have enough knowledge of the diverse cultural potentials. However, they form an immense capital that, in conjunction with active networking and cultural experiences, can give many developmental impulses for the RMO and the preservation of its cultural heritage. For this purpose, a number of steps are necessary and planned: 1. Promotion and marketing of the entire RMO; 2. Creation of a platform that introduces actors of regional cultural work & network 3. The creation of offers of natural and cultural heritage can be actively experienced. The region does not currently have an institution that markets in a complex way the entire RMO with its cultural and natural heritage, does active networking work of cultural operators and thus ensures preservation. As part of our project, we create a joint innovative and cross-border centre of RMO’s cultural and natural heritage with sites in Dębno and Liepe. The center is working on a dt.-pol. Offer to preserve the common heritage and market it. The offers will be developed together and complement each other. Without the cross-border cooperation of the partners and active networking with associated partners and cultural professionals of the RMO, the project has no chance of success. In addition, for the sustainable preservation of regional culture, multiplier training will be designed to enable individuals to offer professional offers on regional nature and cultural heritage, thereby increasing the reach of active preservation of cultural heritage. The center should: collect complex knowledge of the cultural heritage d. RMO, work up and make available to the general public (beyond RMO) in printed and digital form. This creates cross-border coverage. Information (website, apps, explanatory videos, print media) and numerous topics. Workshops for various target groups. The offers will work up the culture and natural heritage of the RMO pedagogically and convey the knowledge of traditional crafts, regional cuisine, folklore, singing & dances, traditions and customs. As an infrastructural basis for the centre, a building is rebuilt in Dębno into the area of regional history with i-point and workshop rooms. For multi-day workshops, a barn with seminar kitchen, workshop rooms and an i-point is converted in Liepe. The kitchen ensures the catering of the guests and the implementation of culinary workshops. The aim of the project is to create a range of services on RMO’s natural and cultural heritage, which contributes to the enhancement of knowledge d. regional heritage, active networking of RMO cultural professionals, guest and event numbers. Residents and cultural professionals of the RMO are favoured by employment opportunities in the cultural sector and increasing the cultural attractiveness that attracts guests and investors.

Das Projekt antwortet auf die im Kooperationsvertrag beschriebene Herausforderung: Natur u. Kulturerbe zu bewahren. Die Grenzregion Mittlere Oder RMO ist ein Randgebiet, entfernt von Ballungsräumen im Schatten der Berliner, Stettiner u. Posener Metropolen. Auf der pol. Seite bilden diese Region Gemeinden der LK Myśliborski u. Gryfiński, auf der dt. Seite der LK Barnim u. Märkisch-Oderland. Die RMO verfügt mit ihren zahlreichen Naturschutzgebieten, Architekturschätzen aus dem slawischen Mittelalter, Klöstern u. Wallanlagen, der Geschichte der Orden u. eine durch Wanderbewegungen diverser Ethnien geprägte kulturelle Vielfalt ,über ein enormes Natur- u. Kulturerbe. Dieses Erbe verfügt leider nur über geringe Bekanntheit u. Wiedererkennung für Bewohner und Gäste der RMO, was sich in schwacher Wirtschaftsentwicklung, fehlenden Investoren u. Abwanderung der Bevölkerung widerspiegelt. Nur wenige Bewohner, Gäste u. Investoren haben genug Wissen über die vielfältigen kulturellen Potenziale. Sie bilden aber ein immenses Kapital, das, in Verbindung mit aktiver Netzwerkarbeit u. Kulturerlebnissen, viele Entwicklungsimpulse für die RMO u. den Erhalt ihres Kulturerbes geben kann. Hierfür sind eine Reihe von Schritten notwendig u. geplant: 1. Bekanntmachung u. Vermarktung der gesamten RMO, 2. Schaffung einer Plattform die Akteure regionaler Kulturarbeit vorstellt u. vernetzt u. 3. Schaffung von Angeboten d. Natur- u. Kulturerbe aktiv erlebbar machen. Die Region verfügt derzeit über keine Institution, die in komplexer Weise die gesamte RMO mit ihrem Kultur- u. Naturerbe vermarktet, aktive Vernetzungsarbeit der kulturell Tätigen leistet u. so die Bewahrung sichert. Im Rahmen unseres Projektes schaffen wir ein gemeinsames innovatives u. grenzübergreifendes Zentrum des Kultur- u. Naturerbes der RMO mit Standorten in Dębno u. Liepe. Das Zentrum erarbeitet ein dt.-pol. Angebot zur Bewahrung des gemeinsamen Erbes u. vermarktet es. Die Angebote werden gemeinsam erarbeitet u. ergänzen sich. Ohne d. grenzüberschreitende Zusammenarbeit der Partner u. aktiver Vernetzung mit assoziierten Partnern u. Kulturschaffenden der RMO hat das Projekt keine Erfolgschancen. Zudem soll für den nachhaltigen Erhalt regionaler Kultur eine Multiplikatorenausbildung konzipiert werden, die Personen dazu befähigt, professionelle Angebote zum regionalem Natur u. Kulturerbe anzubieten u. somit d. Reichweite aktiver Bewahrung kulturellen Erbes zu vergrößern. Das Zentrum soll: komplexes Wissen über d. Kulturerbe d. RMO erfassen, dt.-pol. aufarbeiten u. der breiten Öffentlichkeit (über d. RMO hinaus) in gedruckter u. digitaler Form bereitstellen. Dadurch entstehen grenzübergreif. Informationsangebote (Webseite, Apps, Erklärvideos,Printmedien) u. zahlreiche themat. Workshops für diverse Zielgruppen. Die Angebote werden das Kultur u. Naturerbe der RMO pädagogisch aufarbeiten u. das Wissen über d. traditionelle Handwerk, regionale Küche, Folklore, Gesang u. Tänze, Traditionen u. Bräuche vermitteln. Als infrastrukturelle Grundlage für das Zentrum wird in Dębno ein Gebäude zum Raum regionaler Geschichte mit i-Punkt und Workshopräumen umgebaut. Für mehrtägige Workshops, wird in Liepe eine Scheune mit Seminarküche,Workshopräumen u. einem i-Punkt umgebaut. Die Küche sichert die Verpflegung der Gäste u. Umsetzung kulinarischer Workshops. Projektziel ist die Schaffung einer Angebotspalette über Natur- u. Kulturerbe der RMO, die zur Steigerung d. Wissens d. regionalen Erbes, aktiven Vernetzung Kulturschaffender der RMO, Gäste- u. Veranstaltungszahlen beiträgt. Begünstigt werden Bewohner u. Kulturschaffende der RMO durch Beschäftigungschancen im Kulturbereich u. Steigerung der kulturellen Attraktivität, die Gäste u. Investoren anzieht.
