On two wheels around Szczecin Haff- a Polish-German tourist product

The project “On two wheels around the Szczecin Haff — a Polish-German tourist product” concerns the development of the first complete, cross-border German-Polish tourism product in the Euroregion Pomerania in the area of cycling trails. Within the framework of the European Union, initiatives are being taken to build cross-border, international cycling routes (“VeloBaltica”, “BlueVelo”). To date, there is no common cross-border bicycle tourism product in the Euroregion Pomerania — despite favourable conditions. The dynamically growing tourism network on both sides of the border invites you to connect the two offers via a German-Polish tourist route, which functions as an independent, attractive tourism product and is a complex link for tourism offers on both sides of the border. The project concerns the development of a first German-Polish bicycle tourism product — a cycle path that fills the gap mentioned above, meets all the requirements listed, and at the same time acts as an independent tourist attraction of the Pomerania Euroregion. As part of the project, a German-Polish cycle path is being developed in the Euroregion Pomerania with a total length of... km on the Polish side and 110 km on the German side. The new product and project is based in particular on the already partially existing infrastructure as well as the common cultural and natural heritage. (The route “Round ums Szczecin Haff” as a tourist product is based on the sights of the common natural and cultural heritage, which is the most important feature and the basis of existence). The route connects places and objects of cultural and natural heritage, complements the existing information on the common heritage and promotes this (marking of the route, planned two-year advertising of the product) and contributes to the better management of visitor traffic (through the connections). The project not only generates an absolutely unique German-Polish cycle path, but also thanks to its connection to other routes also ensures the connection of a whole network of cycling and hiking trails in the Euroregion Pomerania on the German and Polish side. The route will also be part of larger products and partly coincide with products such as VeloBaltica and BlueVelo, which promotes attractiveness and accessibility for tourists from all over the world. The target group is tourists from all over the world who can easily access the product thanks to the connection of the route to international routes. The inhabitants of the Pomerania Euroregion benefit directly and indirectly as users of the product and the main distributors of tourism services (hotels, restaurants, etc.), for which a region with a strong and easily accessible region is the main source of income and the basis of their living standards. The development of such a complex and large German-Polish product necessarily requires the close cooperation of the partners on both sides of the borders at all stages, i.e. construction, advertising, further operation and development. The project is innovative because for the first time a joint, completely cross-border cycle path is initiated in the supported area as a long-term product for connecting and promoting natural and cultural heritage in the border area. In addition, the product creates a permanent connection of the tourism industry on both sides of the border and adapts to international tourism products.

Das Projekt „Auf zwei Rädern rund ums Stettiner Haff – ein polnisch-deutsches touristisches Produkt“ betrifft die Entwicklung des ersten kompletten, grenzüberschreitenden deutsch-polnischen Tourismusprodukts in der Euroregion Pomerania im Bereich Radwanderwege. Im Rahmen der Europäischen Union werden Initiativen zum Bau grenzüberschreitender, internationaler Radwanderrouten ergriffen („VeloBaltica“, „BlueVelo“). Bis heute gibt es in der Euroregion Pomerania kein gemeinsames grenzüberschreitendes Fahrradtourismusprodukt – und das trotz günstiger Voraussetzungen. Das dynamisch wachsende Tourismusnetz auf beiden Seiten der Grenze lädt zur Verbindung der beiden Angebote mittels einer deutsch-polnischen Touristikroute ein, die als eigenständiges, attraktives Tourismusprodukt funktioniert und ein komplexes Bindeglied für die Fremdenverkehrsangebote auf beiden Seiten der Grenze darstellt. Das Projekt betrifft die Entwicklung eines ersten deutsch-polnischen Fahrradtourismusprodukts – eines Radwegs, der die oben erwähnte Lücke füllt, alle aufgeführten Anforderungen erfüllt und gleichzeitig als eigenständige Sehenswürdigkeit der Euroregion Pomerania fungiert. Im Rahmen des Projekts entsteht ein deutsch-polnischer Radweg in der Euroregion Pomerania mit einer Gesamtlänge von … km auf polnischer Seite und 110 km auf deutscher Seite. Das neue Produkt und Projekt basiert insbesondere auf der bereits teilweise vorhandenen Infrastruktur sowie dem gemeinsamen Kultur- und Naturerbe. (Die Route „Rund ums Stettiner Haff“ als touristisches Produkt basiert auf den Sehenswürdigkeiten des gemeinsamen Natur- und Kulturerbes, was das wichtigste Merkmal und die Existenzgrundlage darstellt). Die Route verbindet Orte und Objekte des Kultur- und Naturerbes, ergänzt die vorhandenen Informationsangebote über das gemeinsame Erbe und wirbt für dieses (Markierung der Strecke, geplante zweijährige Werbung für das Produkt) sowie trägt zur besseren Verwaltung des Besucherverkehrs bei (durch die Anbindungen). Das Projekt generiert nicht nur einen absolut einzigartigen deutsch-polnischen Radweg, sondern sorgt dank der Anbindung an andere Routen auch für die Verbindung eines ganzen Netzes an Rad- und Wanderwegen in der Euroregion Pomerania auf deutscher und polnischer Seite. Die Route wird außerdem Teil größerer Produkte sein und deckt sich teilweise mit Produkten wie VeloBaltica und BlueVelo, was die Attraktivität und Zugänglichkeit für Touristen aus aller Welt fördert. Zielgruppe sind Touristen aus aller Welt, die dank der Anbindung der Route an internationale Strecken leichter auf das Produkt zugreifen können. Direkt und indirekt profitieren die Einwohner der Euroregion Pomerania als Nutzer des Produkts und wichtigste Disponenten von Fremdenverkehrsleistungen (Hotels, Restaurants u.a.), für die eine touristisch starke und gut zugängliche Region die Haupteinnahmequelle und Grundlage ihres Lebensstandards darstellt. Die Entwicklung eines solch komplexen und großen deutsch-polnischen Produkts erfordert unbedingt die enge Zusammenarbeit der Partner auf beiden Seiten der Grenzen in allen Stadien, d.h. Bau, Werbung, weiterer Betrieb und Entwicklung. Das Projekt ist innovativ, weil zum ersten Mal im Fördergebiet ein gemeinsamer, komplett grenzüberschreitender Radweg als langfristiges Produkt zur Anbindung und Bewerbung des Natur- und Kulturerbes im Grenzraum initiiert wird. Darüber hinaus schafft das Produkt eine permanente Anbindung der Tourismuswirtschaft auf beiden Seiten der Grenze und passt sich in internationale Tourismusprodukte ein.
