Description (EN):

The project consists of telling in the form of a book the common story lived by the man of our Grande-Région over a period of about 500 years. As historical support serve the illustrated cast iron plates, called the chimney taques, which were made in the foundries of our regions from the 15th until the middle of the 19th century. Thus, a selection of about 700 objects exhibited in private or public collections of the Greater Region, documented and classified according to artistic and cultural criteria, should tell us the common history of our homelands. The book will then be presented at a conference and will be complemented by presentations and discussions deepening the social inclusion character of “the history of chimney patches”. At the same time, the future cooperation between museums and municipalities will be intensified in order to find with the help of the stacks a contribution to the creation of a common identity.

Le projet consiste à raconter sous forme d'un livre l'histoire commune vécue par l'homme de notre Grande-Région sur une période d'à peu près 500 ans. Comme support historique servent les plaques en fonte illustrées, appelées les taques de cheminées, qui étaient fabriquées dans les fonderies de nos régions à partir du 15ème jusqu'au milieu du 19ème siècle. Ainsi, une sélection d'environ 700 objets exposés dans des collections privées ou publiques de la Grande Région, documentés et classés suivant des critères artistiques et culturels, devraient nous raconter l'histoire commune de nos patries. Le livre sera ensuite présenté en conférence et complété par des présentations et discussions approfondissant le caractère d'inclusion sociale de "l'histoire des taques de cheminées". En même temps la coopération future entre les musées et communes sera à intensifier pour trouver avec l'aide des taques de cheminées un apport à la création d'une identité commune.
