Description (EN):

Overall objective: Development of beekeeping as a good opportunity for self-employment of persons with disabilities in the border regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. Specific objective: Increased employability of 40 persons with disabilities in project area by provision of technical assistance for self-employment. Project activities include organization of tailor-made training programme for honey producers, as well as other capacity building activities (trainings, networking activities, provision of mentoring services, etc), purchase of equipment and literature with practical tutorials, setting up sites for beekeeping, installing bee hives and provision of technical instructions on use and maintenance of the equipment, promotion activities, such as participation in traditional food fairs, as well as establishment of clusters of honey producers.

Expected Results (EN):

1. Acquired a wealth of knowledge and skills in beekeeping. 2. Provided starter equipment and supplies for establishing a business initiative in beekeeping sector. 3. Marketing of new socially responsible products. 4. Networking among honey producers in cross-border areas and joint placement of products in the market.

Expected Outputs (EN):

Increased capacity of 40 persons with disabilities (out of which 20 women) for beekeeping and husbandry. 40 starter packs (equipment and supplies) provided for 40 PWDs. 40 beekeeping sites and 400 hives installed. 1 packing factory site installed and equipped. 1 Marketing plan developed for market placement of produced products. 1 training on development, promotion and placement of honey products placement of honey products conducted. 2 honey producers clusters established with 40 members of the clusters. 2 strategic plans developed. Participation in 2 fairs.
