Description (EN):

The implementation of the project will eliminate the sanitary pollution problems in Miłakowo and Gusev. Cooperation between the partners will bring significant changes in the state of the environment thanks to the planned joint initiatives and increase the number of people using preventive measures in the field of environmental protection. The main activities within the project relate to the construction of a water supply network with the total length of 5,26 km and a sanitary sewage system with the total length of 5,23 km together with 2 pumping stations in Miłakowo commune, while the Russian partner will build a sewage treatment plant and a sanitary sewage system with the total length of 7,07 km in Pervomayskoye settlement. The project will have a considerable influence on the living conditions in both villages. Cross-border cooperation in the project is crucial due to the same environmental problems affecting the beneficiaries on both sides of the border. These problems are a source of pollution that has an impact on the shared ecosystem of the Vistula Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. The pollution created in both countries gets into the environment regardless of the boundaries, affecting the quality of life of the inhabitants of the cross-border region from Poland and Russia.

Expected Results (EN):

Percentage of population served by improved wastewater or waste treatment systems (baseline value: 0; target value: 791 people; percentage will be calculated after the end of the project on the Programme level). Percentage of population served by improved water supply (baseline value: 0; target value: 299 people; percentage will be calculated after the end of the project on the Programme level).

Expected Outputs (EN):

Additional population served by improved wastewater or waste treatment systems - 791 people. Additional wastewater and waste treatment capacity - 492 people. Number of joint actions and measures aimed at environmental protection or preventing climate change - 1. Number of projects aimed at improving the water supply - 1. Additional population served by improved water supply (CI18) - 299 people. Length of improved storm sewer/wastewater systems - 12,3 kilometres. Length of new and/or modernised water supply systems - 5,26 kilometres. Number of trainings, meetings and exchanges of knowledge addressing common environment protection, climate change and/or natural resource management challenges - 5. Number of participants in trainings, meetings and exchanges of knowledge addressing common environment protection, climate change and/or natural resource management challenges - 150.
