The common cross-border challenges I.N.G.R.I.D project tackles are lack of overall ecological awareness, increased energy consumption, and emission of pollutants, especially CO2. The proposed project sees the possibility of promotion and education of population through three pilot projects foreseen that demonstrate possibility to decrease energy consumption through implementation of energy efficiency measures and production of clean energy using renewable energy sources. In this respect, the main objective of the project is to increase the use of RES by installing the photovoltaic system and pellet stoves with a total power of 0,61MW and to promote energy efficiency measures and recommendations from the energy study. By doing that, the project will demonstrate the benefits of using renewable energy sources and will motivate the community, primarily local authorities, to change the way energy is used and to turn to energy savings measures and reducing emissions of pollutants. The project will result in the additional capacity of renewable energy produced from solar panels and pellet stoves (pilot projects) in the territory of 3 local municipalities, energy study, signed Joint Declaration, establishing and equipping 4 energy info offices, building capacities for cross border stakeholders, obtaining 4 energy documentation for public buildings in the Capital City of Podgorica and obtaining seven (7) energy certificates for the public buildings in the Municipality of Velika Kladuša. The main target groups that will benefit from the implementation of the project are construction companies, architects, local and regional authorities, teachers and professors, schoolchildren, NGOs, and the general public. The added value of the cross-border cooperation for the project partners is linking in the partnership and acquiring experience in implementation of energy projects, but also strengthening their capacities in the conduction of the project co-funded by the EU.

Expected Results (EN): Energy consumption by public buidings in the programme area

Expected Outputs (EN):

We are witnesses of climate changes due to the pollution that is the making of humankind. Climate has forced as to change our conduct and to act more accordingly to nature. For that reason, we are turning to RES and to EE measures to save energy and to produce clean energy. The project Ingrid is moving in the direction of better control of energy, exchange of know-how and practices contributing to lowering of CO2 emission and energy consumption, implementation of green technologies and solutions in the area of sustainable energy and EE. The project will result in the creation of an energy study, installation of the panels and stoves, the signing of a declaration from a dozen local authorities and the EE info office for promotion and education. The project results contribute to the realization of programme result indicators by installation of solar panels with a total power of 0,61 MW during the project, which will prove the applicability of the study and the signed declaration will oblige signatories to use RES on public buildings. Also, the project results contribute to the realization of the needs of targeted stakeholders by establishing an EE info office to manage educational and promotional activities for the pupils, firms in the energy sector, employees in public administration and for the public. The area of project partners has current electricity supply based on traditional energy sources. The study with the Action Plan will provide suggestions for new ways of electricity supply. Within the project, for the goal of proving the value of the recommendations, the pilot project will be implemented. Each project partner with mounted solar panels will have the Energy Office that will measure and record the amount of produced electricity from the solar panels. Also, the Energy Office will collect statistical data on the number of visitors, the number of lectures conducted, the number of promotional activities completed and the number of public servants trained.
