Roots of creative industries are in individual creativity, skills and talent, and have the potential for wealth and job creation through the generation and exploitation of intellectual property. Currently, creative industries are considered as an excellent way to develop business activity. Most often they are associated with advertising, architecture, art, and antique, craft, design, fashion, film and video industries, music, performing arts, publishing, software production, radio and television and video and computer games. Some estimations confirm that creative industry is an integral part of every product and service that comes to the market and to the buyer, with the presence in 99% of all products and services, and significant share of add-value in the final price. Yet, access to creative industries in the cross border region is not promising. Environment is not supportive, with deficiency of know-how and supporting services to start-up ventures. New technology which dictates trends on the market is not available to interested groups even on the commercial bases. This makes the gap of underdeveloped regions larger and creates negative economic and social impact, resulting in economic migrations, low income, unemployment, etc. CREATIVE@CBC will contribute to the turn of events, on a short run in the partnership cities of Prijedor, Sisak and Podgorica, and in a long run to wider cross border area, by using the transferability potential which is considerable. Creative industries will be used as a tool to stimulate economic development, to achieve greater visibility in a wider environment, especially in synergy with traditional industries. Development model will be based on supporting physical infrastructure and access to know-how services, new technologies, methodologies for stimulation of innovation processes and facilitation of cross sectoral connections of creative industries and other sectors of cross border economy.

Expected Results (EN): Range of cluster activities enhancing innovation, new technologies and ICT solutions

Expected Outputs (EN):

Project is designed to align to Programme logics, resulting in provision of range of activities, focused on the specifics of sector of creative industries, implying enhancement of environment for innovation, application of new technologies and ICT solutions. With supporting infrastructure developed – Creative centres in Prijedor, Novska and Podgorica, and established cross border Network of creative industries, range of new instruments will become available for target beneficiaries. Instruments will include 4 types of supporting actions in the form of services – access to know-how, access to new technologies, access to best practice methodologies and facilitation of interactions on local and cross border level. Consequently, some of the major deficiencies of cross border environment for creative industries will be resolved, providing the base for support to development and promotion of new business model concepts. Result 1. Access to know-how for skills and competences in creative industries will be improved, providing individuals and organizations with reference points for information, counselling and mentoring in working in creative industries. Result 2. Access to new technologies, as the crucial aspect of new business models, will be improved, with set of devices, tools and equipment for creative industries, available in the capacities of Creative centres in Prijedor, Novska and Podgorica. Results 3. Local and regional policies of support to sectors of creative industry will be updated, relying on quadruple-helix methodology and best practices applied in Europe or globally. Result 4. Increased dynamics of creative industries, on the base of facilitated interactions within the sector and particularly in cooperation with IT, Cultural and Traditional industries, including new products and services developed within as proof of concept.
