Description (EN):

The project will enhance the mobility and accessibility of the Lower Prut border region by modernizing 6 kilometers of roads of local and cross-border importance in the Cahul-Oancea region. It will also build 2000 kilometers of bicycle trails between Oancea and Cahul in order to promote environmentally friendly transport means. Both communities are invested into developing a sustainable urban mobility plan for Cahul-Oancea cross-border area.

Expected Results (EN):

1. Modernised roads of local and cross-border importance in the Cahul-Oancea cross-border region (6). 2. Cross-border sustainable urban mobility plan for Cahul - Oancea border area (1). 3. Bicycle lanes/trails created in Cahul and Oancea (1832). 4. Promotion of non polluting means of transport in order to develop an environmentally friendly transportation in Cahul-Oancea cross-border region (5000).

Expected Outputs (EN):

Cross-Border sustainable urban mobility plan (1). Local development strategies in Cahul and Oancea updated as a result of the SUMP elaboration and public consultations organised. (2). Cross-Border awareness campaign aiming to promote less polluting means of transportation (5000) - aiming to promote less polluting means of transportation such as public transportation, cycling and walking instead of using personal cars. 5000 people informed about road safety issues. Modernised roads in Cahul (Length - km) (3). Modernised roads in Oancea (Length - km) (3). Bridge (1). New roundabout constructed (1). Bicycle lanes/trails built in Cahul (Length - meters) (1451). Bicycle lanes/trails built in Oancea (Length - meters) (381).
