Description (EN):

The project aims to capitalize on the existing economic relations in Iași-Ungheni region, the "Ungheni-Business" Free Economic Zone and TechnopolIS Park by improving the cross-border transport infrastructure of the area. Three kilometers of road will be modernized, covering both the access roads for TechnopolIS Park as well as a bypass road to the city of Ungheni. Additionally, there will be developed a system of street lighting on photovoltaic panels. The project also seeks to establish a common action plan for cross-border infrastructure improvement and a cross-border communication network.

Expected Results (EN): Number of kilometres of reconstructed or upgraded roads (3). Environmentally friendly cross-border transport initiatives developed (1). Common action plan for cross border infrastructure improvement (1). Cross border connections and communication network (1).

Expected Outputs (EN):

Focus groups (10: 5 in Romania, 5 in Republic of Moldova). Common action plan (1) - designed to support the fluid movement of commercial and non-commercial traffic across the border. Business networking event (2). Visit study event (2). Exchange experience event (2). Rehabilitation of the bypass road to the city of Ungheni (2,185 km). Rehabilitation of the TehnopolIS Park: two modernized access roads of approx. 250m and 414 m length, parking for trucks, modernization of the access roads inside the park (with an approx. length of 905 m). A system of street lighting on the basis of photovoltaic panels (1).
