The project responds to the Program’s challenge, promoting and protecting natural heritage, and it is consistent with the Program’s strategy. The main goal of the project is the joint promotion of the natural heritage of Sanok county and the Gródecki region, which are pollinating insects, in particular the honey bee, and the presentation of its unique role in nature and human life through the role of “Apiaries” of Educational, Tourist and Promotion Centers of the Carpathian Bee in Poland and Ukraine. In addition, the project aims to restore the natural heritage by reintroduction bee breeds that became extinct in the border area as a result of warfare. The project is targeted at a broad audience, including children, adolescents, and adults, and includes:  conference opening the project organized in Poland (1),  beekeeping workshops (1),  ecological picnic (1),  festival “Days of Carpathian Bee and Honey” (1),  construction of two apiaries and houses for pollinating insects along with a demonstration plot of honey plants and educational paths (3),  promotion carried out as part of two “Apiaries” Educational, Tourist and Promotion Centers of the Carpathian Bee (in Poland and Ukraine in the Sanok district and the Gródek region). During the project implementation, a documentary report on the project and a publication (1) will be prepared, as well as 6 promotional films (reports on FB) about the activities of the Centers and project activities (in Poland and Ukraine). In addition, there will be a page on FB showing the project activities and two other social media (Twitter, Instagram). The promotional and information campaign “Open Apiary” on the role of pollinating insects in nature, promotion of beekeeping, the activities of the Centers, as well as educational paths will be conducted in Poland and Ukraine. The project aims to make the public (including children and adolescents) aware of the role of pollinating insects in nature and human life and show the method of reproduction of plant species forming the so-called biodiversity as a factor conditioning the development of borderland tourism. After the completion of the project, the interest in tourism related to the natural heritage of the honey bee will increase. Within a few years, the number of apiaries where the “Karpatka” honey bee will be bred will increase. The interest in creating “hotels” for pollinating insects in home gardens will be greater. The implementation of the project should contribute to strengthening the position of the beekeeping economy as a factor conditioning the development of the region based on peculiar biodiversity. The cross-border cooperation program will also create opportunities for the promotion and protection of the common natural heritage of pollinating insects, particularly the “Karpatka” honey bee, and guarantees the coherence of the border environment for animal and plant populations
