Most Mediterranean sectors suffer from poor connections between research, development and education, from one side, and, the real economy, from the other side. Unfortunately, many tools used and developed by research and academic actors do not match with actual market needs. Ports are no exception to this situation. TECHLOG wants to strengthen ties between academia and the (trans)port industry (namely the transport inside port areas) in the Mediterranean region. Concretely, TECHLOG will encourage joint Technology Transfer Initiatives (TTI) to achieve common quality standards for transport and port specialized staff. A Mediterranean Open Lab will be created to promote and share those initiatives within the (trans)port communities. These TTI will be tested through pilot actions, in real port operators, and will involve trained staff. For the sake of efficiency and consistency, the project will focus on advanced simulation technologies which are, beyond the shadow of a doubt, among the key success factors for both port workers and port operators.

Achievements (EN):

A Journey of Transformation The TECHLOG project, co-funded by the European Union under the ENI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme, embarked on a mission in July 2021 to revolutionize the connections between academia and the dynamic realms of the port and transport sectors. Today, we stand at the culmination of this transformative journey, eager to share the highlights and insights that have shaped the transport and port industries. Unveiling TECHLOG's Final Report We are thrilled to present the TECHLOG Final Report – a comprehensive documentation of our project's evolution, achievements, and the impactful collaborations that have left an indelible mark on the transport and port sectors. This report is more than a mere summary; it is a narrative that encapsulates the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and progress. Looking Back, Moving Forward As we celebrate the achievements of the past three years, our gaze is fixed on the future. We envision a continued journey of collaboration and innovation in the transport industry, where technology, knowledge, and collaboration converge to achieve great success.

Expected Results (EN):

2 Living Labs established to support technology transfer between research centers specialized in driving simulators and (trans)port communities. 1 Training course for innovation trainers developed . 10 representatives of transport institutions trained to become innovation trainers in their sector. 16 (trans)port enterprises cooperating with research institutions to validate the developed TTIs.

Expected Outputs (EN):

3.1 - Survey on Mediterranean state of the art and practice in the field of port and transport simulation. 3.2 - Survey on Med operators/organizations that can benefit from the transfer of identified best practice. 3.3 - Preliminary assessment of the transferability of the identified solutions. 4.1 - Operating and Management Plan for the Cross Border Open Lab. 4.2 - (Trans)port industry - Academia research agreements during intervention. 4.3 - (Trans)port subjects registered in the web-based collaboration platform to cooperate with research. 5.1 - Preliminary codesigned protocols of Technology Transfer and Innovation. 5.2 - Transport institutions cooperating with research institutions to develop TT programs within the LLs. 5.3 - Transport SMEs cooperating with research institutions to codesign TTIs and protocols within the LLs. 5.4 - Training course for innovation trainers (training package). 5.5 - Representatives of Med transport institutions trained to become innovation trainers in their sector. 5.6 - Video Tutorials. 5.7 - Joint proposal for a new shared qualification standard for advanced training programs. 5.8 - Representatives of Med institutions taking part in the capacity building path provided by TECHLOG. 6.1 - Validated codesigned protocols of Technology Transfer and Innovation. 6.2 - Agreement for the post-project management of the Mediterranean Cross-Border Open Lab. 6.3 - (Trans)port enterprises cooperating with research institutions to validate the developed TTIs.
