Description (EN):

RECON faces following COMMON CHALLENGE in modernizing archival activities and mapping cultural heritage materials in investing in creative industries as a key of producing long term strategic and inovative approach of access to archival elements. The MAIN OVERALL OBJECTIVE is stimulation of synergy beetween institutions of cultural heritage and cross-border valorisation of it through creative production of new art. The project is crossborder initiative of cultural exchange by seting up networks of film archives, artists, curators and restorsers with use of new digital technology. EXPECTED CHANGE of project is promoting cultural heritage by reinventing it with restructuring new catalog, understandning potential for creation of new content and establishing capacity for digital restoration. The project OUTPUT is joint cross-border platform of online standardized catalog of film and co-production of restored medium lenght films and video installations made of archived material of cultural heritage. The MAIN BENEFIT of cross border cooperation is effective use of wider pool of cultural heritage by potential users and reaching more extensive human resources for creative industry of film restoration. The key innovation of RECON is intersectorial approach to new cultural challenge between cultural heritage (film archives), creative industries (development of software, digital film restoration) and contemporary art from different regions to develop new policies and practices to mutually improve regional sectors for cooperation and interconnection.

Expected Results (EN): a) cross border networks in the cultural and creative fields;

Expected Outputs (EN):

Through a cataloging web application that archivist and researchers would use for precise methodical archiving of film and other video materials. The aim of this activity is to introducing this standardization in PPs. Methodical cataloging will significantly improve the planning and implementation of conservation, conservation and restoration measures of PPs heritage as well as research work in the field of history of television and cinema etc. Creation of upgraded version of web application for archival use will make current software improved and shared between PPs. Improved application as cross-border platform would be adapted to work in a number of languages, in addition it will be adapted for IT sector's needs, for making of administrative, management and statistical reports and monitoring the state of the film heritage in relation to the major reasons for the film deterioration - vinegar syndrome.
