The extension project builds on the main tangible results of the regular project “INBETS” in both quantitative and qualitative terms. Not only is the scope of the results increased, but additional measures are carried out to reinforce the results and overall effect. The practical application and consolidation of the measures achieved are of particular priority. The capacities of the existing project partners and new organisations will be increased, and additional regions included in implementation activities. 1. Based on the results of the INBETS project, a practical implementation of the developed models for successful handovers and of the tools to accompany a generation change will take place in at least another 40 companies during the extension phase. This will more than double the number of directly involved private companies. As the importance of timely planning of the handover is not yet fully developed in the vast majority of companies and organisations, at least six individual information events, so-called "Transfer Days", are held in the BSR regions to promote further implementation of the project results. Participants will be SMEs as well as chambers of commerce and representatives of economic policy in the respective region. The main target group of this action are private companies. 2. The second work package has two main focuses, both of which aim to consolidate and institutionalise the results of the regular project in the region. a) A designed, tested and the optimised train-the-trainer seminar will be qualitatively complemented with additional information for the counselling process. As a high-quality contribution to the sustainably of the project results in practical application, the seminar is to be held once again to qualify additional business promoters and supporters of SMEs from the regions as transfer consultants in the long term. b) A comprehensive online course will be made available on the virtual platform, the course will be free to use and enable consultants to effectively upgrade their knowledge support SMEs. The course deals with the different particularities of the company transfers, shows different transfer models and their financing explains how to evaluate a company financially and what has to be taken into account in the planning. The main target group of this action are business support organisations in the BSR. 3. Within the framework of the regular project, a political strategy program was designed, presented to the public and adopted at the end of the course. These political recommendations will now be consolidated and implemented. For this purpose, a Memorandum of Understanding is to be drafted and will be signed by stakeholders from as many Baltic Sea countries as possible at a final conference. The aim is to ensure that these political recommendations are known and implemented sustainably in the respective regions. The main target group of this action are political and public stakeholders.

Achievements (EN):

InBets+ boosted the success rates of SME business transfers. The project carried out 56 consultations with enterprises, which have gained knowledge of how to proceed further with their transfer. The number of skilled coaches has also increased after their participation in the “train-the-trainer” seminar. InBets+ has created the first-ever online training course that shows tools and models and provides information on the many stages to be taken by owners, successors, or consultants. The cooperation structure for business transfers throughout the Baltic Sea region has been significantly strengthened. In the long run, fewer jobs will be lost due to failed transfers in the Baltic Sea region. Furthermore, the extension stage project focused on putting into action the policy strategies that were created as part of the project INBETS BSR, and it anchored those policies on multiple levels. Particularly, the regional and national levels were in focus and participants from these levels gathered to attend the numerous activities and the two conferences. The level of awareness has significantly improved, and the public institutions involved now understand why it is essential for the regional economy to facilitate the transfer of knowledge to subsequent generations. https://interreg-baltic.eu/project/inbets/
