Project aims to strengthen the development of tourism through the promotion of unique cross-border wine tourism destination, connecting some of the most important wine regions in Hungary and continental Croatia - Siklós-Villány and Croatian Danube and Slavonia region. Planned activities aim to integrate and upgrade wine tourism offer on two sides of the border of one geographical region, Baranja/Baranya and its surroundings, through the establishment of network between wine producers, tourist and hospitality operators, destination management capacity building, transfer of know-how, integration and joint promotion of cross-border wine tourism offer on local, regional and international market. Project is directly contributing to the Programme through the establishment and promotion of unique cross-border wine tourism destination representing wealth of wine culture, cultural, multiethnic and natural heritage of one geographical region shared by two countries. Action will be implemented during 24 months in Osijek-Baranja County and Baranya County, in particularly covering wine growing regions of Siklós-Villány, Croatian Danube and partly Slavonia. Activities will also take place in city of Osijek and Pecs, and partly outside of the Programme area for wine tourism promotion activities. Main target groups are wine producers, tourist operators, hospitality structure operators, tourist enterprises, catering and restaurant providers, local products producers, travel agents and NGOs dealing with tourism in general and wine production and promotion. Croatian Food and Agriculture agency as Project LB will be in charge of overall Project coordination and together with Tenkes Wine Region Development Nonprofit Ltd. for the implementation of the wine tourism management capacities and networking activities, while Tourism board of OBC is in charge of joint wine tourism destination development and promotion activities. Expected outputs and results: -created cross-border wine tourism route /joint wine tourism destination connecting two countries -systemized and integrated wine tourism offer of two wine growing regions on cross-border level – Siklós-Villány and Croatian Danube and Slavonia wine regions -established network between wine producers, tourist and hospitality operators and development stakeholders on two sides of the border -increased capacity for the management and promotion of wine tourism on local and cross-border level -increased technical capacity for the promotion of wine tourism offer of Siklós-Villány and Croatian Danube and Slavonia region through the acquisition of mobile wine tasting vehicles and wine tasting and promotional trailer -increased visibility of wine tourism offer of Siklós-Villány and Croatian Danube and Slavonia wine region on local, regional and international level -created and promoted image of unique wine tourism destination representing wealth of wine culture, cultural, multiethnic and natural heritage of one geographical region shared by two countries -generated new business opportunities in rural area Project aims to integrate wine tourism offer present on two sides of the border and promote it as unique cross-border wine tourism destination. This will be achieved thru the establishment of cross-border wine tourism cooperation network and promotion of joint wealth of wine culture, cultural, multiethnic and natural heritage of one geographical region shared by two EU member countries on local, regional and international market. Two wine regions, situated along the border, are individually recognizable on their national markets as high quality wine producing areas and interesting wine tourism destinations. By integrating and promoting offer on two sides of the border, they will be able to increase their competitiveness as the activities will lead to the creation of more attractive and diverse tourism content for longer visits. As such it will set key conditions for generating an increase in tourist flow in targeted cross-border area.
