Description (EN):

Project aim is to strengthen communication links and increase the information flow in cross-border area through the establishment of informal cooperation networks between public and civil society actors from two sides of the border supported by Croatian and Hungarian minority groups. As language barrier is one of the key obstacles for cooperation in cbc area project aims at activating the role of media and minority associations as communication catalysts, hence promoting the multicultural heritage of the cross-border region. This will be achieved through the actions promoting active role of minorities, creation of media, culture, tourism and civil society data-base actors, publicly available, involvement of media and co-organization of events in targeted cross-border area. Project is directly contributing to the Programme through its positive impact on cooperation initiatives struggling with language barriers and information on relevant stakeholders from two sides of the border. Project will be implemented during 16 months in Osijek-Baranja (CRO) and Baranya County (HU), covering the locations where most of Croatian and Hungarian minorities live. Its main activities will take place in Osijek, Pecs, Bilje, Batina, Lug, Kopačevo and Erdut. Main target groups are members of minority associations, journalists, civil society actors, culture and tourism sector related stakeholders. TZ OBZ as Project LB will be in charge of overall Project coordination and networking framework, Croatian self-government Pecs and Democratic Union of Hungarians in Croatia in charge of cross-border information exchange and cooperation platform activities, while all project partners would be in charge for organizing and promoting social and cultural events with a purpose of connecting stakeholders from both sides of the border. Expected outputs and results: elaborated and publicly available cbc media, culture, tourism and civil society actors database; decreased level of language barriers through the set up of information and cooperation points within minority associations; increased level of visibility of development stakeholders through series of organized round tables, partly dedicated to matchmaking; increased cooperation level between actors in cbc area through networking events; increased visibility of events in cbc area through information exchange between media and event organizers on two sides of the border; increased cooperation opportunities as the result of established links and networks between different actors in cbc area; increased visibility of the role of minorities in multicultural societies; established cross-border informal cooperation networks between actors in culture, media, tourism and civil society; jointly promoted and organized event promoting cultural heritage of cbc region. "Project has valuable horizontal effect on all present and future initiatives in the cross-border area as it aims to establish operative links between different actors in media, culture, tourism and civil society sector in targeted cross-border area. It is promoting cross-border cooperation, strengthening the information exchange, networking and general visibility of actions in cross-border area with main goal of involvement as many actors as possible in cross-border cooperation. It envisages active role and cooperation with and between Croatian and Hungarian minority associations in cbc area. Establishment of culture, tourism, civil society and media network will provide additional value not only to target groups but also inhabitants of cross-border area, as it will support information flow between two sides of the border. Project at the same time promotes joint multicultural heritage and tourist values of the cross-border area, particularly those related to rural areas.

Achievements (EN):
