Description (EN):

Digital technologies affect our everyday life and have a huge impact on the labour-market and how people work. Even more jobs require specialised digital skills. Kosice Region and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County are facing the same challenges: there is a huge gap in the area of digital skills, the proportion of digitally illiterate people is high and the level of digital competences is low, outdated teaching methods exist and schools have insufficient digital infrastructure. Additionally, it can be realised that although the number of IT enterprises is quite high in both regions, but there is a significant “brain drain”, partly coming from the poor links between students and potential employers of the regions. The main objective of the current project is to increase the digital competences and skills of the primary and secondary school students in Košice Region (KSK) and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (B-A-Z). It will be reached through: 1. The establishment of interactive classrooms (1xHU, 1xSK). 2. Investment in digital infrastructure by purchasing of LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 sets and LEGO WeDo 2 sets for primary and secondary schools from Hungary and Slovakia, as an innovative form of IT education. 3. Organization of workshops and training for teachers in order to use LEGO sets actively during teaching process, thus enhancing their digital competences. 4. Organisation of robotics courses, competitions and summer camp for students. The know-how conveyed to the teachers shall be persistent, the procured Lego kits shall serve the following generations. By connecting enterprises and primary/secondary schools, the project aims to provide practical education to the students, in line with the labour market requirements. The collaboration between schools established in the frame of the project will result-in a long-term sustainable cross-border cooperation.

Expected Results (EN):

The project will set up an effective and innovative model of education through the provision of material equipment and training for teachers of selected primary and secondary schools, which will represent a long-term benefit for the region. By promoting long-term institutional cooperation between primary and secondary schools as well as between secondary schools and employers, better conditions will be created in the field of student education, reflecting labor market needs. By organizing joint workshops for teachers, student participation in a joint cross-border competition, shared experiences, new contacts and experiences, the project will enhance understanding and bilingualism.

Expected Outputs (EN):

3, - LB: LEGO® SPIKE® Education set 104 pcs. - B1: Creation of one interactive class in Košice – location: Kasarne Kulturfabric – notebook (14 pcs), tablet (7), interactive whiteboard (1), Lego WeDo 2.0 base set (7), rechargeable battery for Smart Hub (7), AC adapter (7), LEGO® SPIKE® Education 167 sets and extension sets (superstructure) in number 61 kits. - B2: LEGO® SPIKE® Education set 45678 (56), LEGO® SPIKE® expansion set 45680 (14), BBC micro:bit Club (14), laptop (56) and tablet (28), LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 Set: 84 pcs. 4, - 2 workshops for teachers and SME employers organized in SVK (approximately 30 persons in total) (LB). - 2 Tailored curriculum plans developed by HU partner (B2). - 1 cross border workshop for trainers (approximately 20) (B2). - 2 trainings for teachers organized in HU (LEGO SPIKE and WEDO 2.0) (B2). - Trainings for teachers - WS for SVK teachers will be provided from LEGO supplier (LB). - Robotic classes for teachers organized in HU (2 trainers/ 14 schools/ 8 months) (B2). 5, - 1 LEGO We Do Competition in HU (B2). - 2 educational workshops for students in SVK (LB). - 1 cross border 5 day long summer robotics camp (B2). - 2 cross border competition for students (B1, B2).
