Contribution to wider strategies and policies:

  • SMALL directly contributes to the 2030 Territorial Agenda's core objectives for a Just and Clean Europe, by addressing societal imbalances that hamper PRM to access and benefit from the transition towards sustainable mobility modes. It therefore supports the agenda's objective of developing a more just Europe that offers opportunities for all people.
  • SMALL seeks to contribute to making the transition towards more sustainable mobility and transport modes more inclusive. This can be seen as an objective in itself (leaving nobody behind by making mobility accessible to all, particularly PRM) and as a way to incentivise a major portion of our societies (children and families, elderly and physically disabled) to move away from private vehicles towards shared and sustainable mobility.
  • By making the transition to more sustainable and shared mobility available for all, SMALL contributes to the EU Green Deal's objective of ensuring the green transition is just and inclusive. SMALL puts citizens with reduced mobility at the centre, ensuring they are not left behind and that they can entirely benefit from it. By doing this, the EU Green Deal's climate objectives are reinforced, with larger portions of society taking up more sustainable modes of transport and mobility.
  • SMALL is contributing SDG 10 reduced inequalities, 11 sustainable cities and communities and 13 climate actions. On the one hand, this is done by providing access to sustainable mobility systems to PRM and thus improving green accessibility. On the other hand, SMALL contributes to lowering CO2 emissions by deploying new sustainable mobility solutions to users that have not yet the opportunity to access shared mobility.
  • SMALL contributes to several European Pillars on Social Rights including Principle 3 (Equal Opportunities) and Principle 17 (Inclusion of people with disabilities) by ensuring shared mobility and active travel solutions are available to more user groups (including children and families, elderly and physically disabled). This is done by involving the end-users in the design and the experimentation of new shared mobility services, and representing PRM at national and european policy-making level.
