Projekta mērķis ir attīstīt ūdenstūrismu Latvijā un Lietuvā, turpinot attīstīt esošo pārrobežu tūrisma produktu riverways.eu, izveidojot laivojamo upju un ezeru ar atpūtas aktivitātēm tīklojumu. Pārrobežu sadarbības rezultātā kopīga visaptveroša informācija par ūdenstūrismā balstītām aktivitātēm ezeros un upēs būs vietnē www.riverways.eu un apvienojumā ar mērķtiecīgām mārketinga aktivitātēm tiks mazināta haotiska tūristu plūsma. "Safe&Green" koncepcija veicinās drošu un dabai draudzīgu tūrismu un samazinās antropogēno slodzi uz tūrismam izmantotajiem dabas resursiem, kā arī veicinās atbildīgāku un izglītotāku ceļotāju sabiedrību.

Project objective is to develop the waterways network in Latvia and Lithuania by further expanding exiting cross-border tourism product riverways.eu through designing of a network of lakes for recreational activities and rivers for kayaking in whole Programme area. Through cross-border cooperation, it will result with joint comprehensive information of water tourism based activities in lakes and rivers on www.riverways.eu , covering full customer journey. "Safe&Green" concept will facilitate safe and nature friendly tourism and decrease unexpected anthropogenic load on natures resources used for tourism, as well as contribute to more responsible and educated travellers’ society. 6 recreational sites near waters will be developed, contributing to the accessible nature resources for water-based activities.

Projekto tikslas - išvystyti vandens kelių tinklą Latvijoje ir Lietuvoje, toliau plečiant esamą tarpvalstybinį turizmo produktą riverways.eu, sukuriant ežerų tinklą rekreacinei veiklai ir upių tinklą baidarių sportui Programos teritorijoje. Bendradarbiaujant apibus sienos, bus sukurta duomenų bazė apie vandens turizmo veiklas ežeruose ir upėse. "Safe&Green" koncepcija skatins saugų ir gamtai draugišką turizmą, sumažins nelauktą antropogeninę naštą, prisidės prie atsakingos ir išsilavinusios keliautojų visuomenės kūrimo.

Actual Achievements (EN):

During 1st reporting period the following activities were implemented: 1. LP organized Kick-off meeting in Kuldīga (25.-26.03.2024.) with 20 representatives from all project partners' institutions. Partners discussed about Project management and cooperation – structure, responsibilities, meetings, reporting, JEMS, communication requirements and principles, planned investments, expected results, challenges, time schedule, workplan and activities to be implemented. 2. Partnership Agreement between LP and project Partners has been signed. 3. Laptop with software and hardware has been purchased by LP. 4. Check lists (drafts) with river and lakes inspection criteria were created by LP and PP8. To finalize them, it is necessary to understand the capabilities of the upgraded website. 5. Rivers and lakes have been inspected by LP and PP8. 6. LP started public procurement procedure on the update of website upesoga.lv. 7. Market research on the purchase of photos has been announced and carried out by LP. 8. Informative posters are placed at partners’ offices. 9. Project section on KPR's (LP) webpage was created in Latvian - https://kurzemesregions.lv/projekti/turisms/waterways/ (3 posts) and English - https://kurzemesregions.lv/en/projects/tourism/waterways/ (2 posts). 10. Project section on webpage latlit.eu was created - https://latlit.eu/theprojects/waterways/ by LP. 11. Cooperation with project's No. LL-00134 WaterTour team is created. LP participated in two seminars of this project. 12. A separate section created for this project on the website of PP4: https://kuldigasnovads.lv/uzsaktie-projekti/ which has been updated regularly. 13. 2 posts on the website of Kuldīga Municipality (www.kuldigasnovads.lv) about starting implementing the project, main activities, budget etc.: a. https://kuldigasnovads.lv/uzlabos-vilgales-ezera-pieejamibu/ (April 30, 2024) b. https://kuldigasnovads.lv/sakta-vilgales-ezera-pieejamibas-uzlabosana/ (August 30, 2024) 14. 2 posts on the Facebook account of PP4: on April 30, 2024 and on August 30, 2024. 15. 1 article in the local newspaper "Novada Vēstis" on May 8, 2024 by PP4. 16. Public procurement procedure has been done and contract has been signed by PP4 with SIA "PONTON.LV" on July 5, 2024 for performing construction works in Vilgāle lake. The works have been started at the end of the 1st period, but the costs will be declared in the 2nd period. 17. PP7 Initiated public procurement procedures for the necessary infrastructure and works, ensuring that the project remains on track. 18. PP8 organized (LP secured) an Experience exchange trip to Latvia on 11-12 June. It was very useful for the 25 Lithuanian stakeholders to learn from the Latvians. 19. PP8 purchase the services of a photographer to take pictures of the lakes with a drone. 20. A new domain was created by PP8: www.riverways.eu in Lithuania will be called www.upesezerai.lt. 21. The rivers and lakes were also published on Facebook and Instagram accounts Atostogoskaime.lt by PP8.

EUStrategyBalticSeaRegion The project contributes to the policy area Tourism under one of the three EUSBSR objectives: "Save the Environment" - sustainable tourism, better cooperation among tourism actors and fostering changes in business practices and consumer behaviourin toruism.
