The project focuses on the development of wellness tourism in the health resorts of Supraśl and Druskininkai, located in the neighboring regions of Poland and Lithuania, respectively. Both destinations share common challenges related to limited visibility and underdeveloped tourism offers, which hinders their competitiveness in the global wellness tourism market. The program area faces a common challenge of limited visibility in the global market. Supraśl and Druskininkai struggle to attract visitors and compete with other wellness resorts, despite their rich natural resources and therapeutic traditions. The aim of the project is to bring Supraśl and Druskininkai to leading positions in wellness tourism by promoting their uniqueness and supporting cooperation between partners. The expected change is a significant increase in the number of visitors, economic growth and international recognition of both resorts. Main results: Promotional materials: High-quality promotional materials presenting the wellness offer, cultural attractions and the beauty of Supraśl and Druskininkai. Training Programs: Capacity building initiatives and training programs for local stakeholders to improve service quality and hospitality standards. Collaborative partnerships: Establishing cross-border partnerships and collaborations to leverage resources and expertise in promoting wellness tourism. Events and conferences: Organizing events, conferences and workshops to raise awareness, share best practices and support innovation in wellness tourism. Beneficiaries: Local communities: increased tourist activity creates economic opportunities, creates jobs and improves the quality of life of residents. Tourism Industry: Promotional activities attract more visitors, which leads to increased revenues and business growth. Visitors: Improved visitor experiences and access to wellness offerings contribute to improved health and well-being of tourists. The project took a cross-border/transnational approach to leverage the complementary strengths and resources of both regions. By collaborating across borders, the project maximizes impact, shares best practices and addresses common challenges more effectively than if each region operated in isolation. This approach enables the pooling of resources, expertise and networks to achieve common goals and create synergies between stakeholders. The innovation of the project lies in a holistic approach to the development of wellness tourism, promotional activities, capacity building and stakeholder involvement. Furthermore, the cross-border cooperation aspect is unique as it promotes knowledge exchange, cultural exchange and joint problem solving between regions that share similar challenges and opportunities in the wellness tourism sector. This innovative approach is expected to bring lasting and transformative changes that will position Supraśl and Druskininkai as leading destinations in the global wellness tourism market.

Expected Achievements (EN):

The main objective is to increase awareness of our areas as attractive tourist destinations among potential international tourists. By producing high-quality films showcasing the beauty and unique features of the health resorts, the project aims to capture the attention of an international audience and encourage them to visit these regions. As a result, the production and distribution of these films will contribute to increasing the global visibility of Supraśl Municipality and Druskininkai as tourist destinations. The expected increase in awareness of these spa resorts will attract a greater number of international tourists, bringing economic benefits to local communities, including increased tourism revenue, the development of local tourism businesses, and stimulation of the local economy. Additionally, the increased presence of international tourists may also contribute to cultural exchange and the promotion of international understanding and cooperation.

Project "Common history - the same future" co-financed by the EU from the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Poland – Belarus – Ukraine 2014 – 2020 under the European Neighborhood Instrument. (EN) | The aim of the project is to protect and increase the availability of cultural heritage in the Polish-Belarusian-Ukrainian border area. The implementation of the goal through the measures proposed in the project will contribute to increasing the tourist attractiveness of border areas, eliminating existing problems related mainly to the lack of knowledge about the cultural heritage resources. Products created as a part of the project, such as Supraskie CDs, organized choir concerts, painting workshops and sculptural outdoor workshop will allow a wider audience (residents, tourists) to discover new undiscovered aspects of the cultural heritage of the project area.
