CROSS2MAP project is jointly addressing the following challenges within the programme area *Lack of Promotion and Marketing: The region's tourism potential remains largely unknown to potential visitors. There is a lack of coordinated marketing efforts to promote the region's attractions and showcase its unique selling points. *Adapting to Market Trends: Tourism in the region needs to adapt to evolving market trends and consumer preferences. This includes exploiting the niche markets, exploring alternative tourism products, and leveraging digital technologies to enhance the visitor experience. *Environmental Concerns: Sustainable tourism practices are crucial for preserving the natural beauty and environmental integrity of the cross-border region. This includes minimizing environmental impact, promoting ecotourism initiatives, and educating tourists about responsible travel practices. The project’s objective is enhancing cross-border tourism within the project area by creating a virtual platform to showcase cultural and natural heritage for the cross-border area of Galati county, Cahul district and ATU Gagauzia and developing a network for knowledge in sustainable tourism, within 18 months. CROSS2MAP project will create a virtual platform for tourism promotion, which bring key advantages for tourism promotion, such as: - Wide reach and global audience: provide access to a vast and global audience of potential tourists. This allows destinations and tourism businesses to reach a wider range of travelers, expanding their market potential. - Targeted reach and personalization: tourism businesses to target their marketing efforts to specific demographics, interests, and travel preferences. This allows them to deliver personalized messages and content that resonate with their ideal audience, improving the effectiveness of their campaigns. The value added of the platform will be the display in the form of an interactive online map of tourism attractions in the cross border area of the project, including also tourism objectives for intangible heritage (such as identified local gastronomy and local tradition heritage). The map will promote at least 10 tourism attractions for Galati area and 20 for South region of Moldova Republic (including Cahul district and ATU Gagauzia). Also, a Cooperation Agreement regarding the knowledge and dissemination exchange on tourism within the project area will be concluded (project partners together with VIA Cluster Cahul and ATU Gagauzia representatives) in order to enhance future collaboration snd support for tourism development in the area. The planned approach is based on joint development, joint implementation, joint staffing and joint financing of the project. A large cross border partnership is supporting our proposal: State University "Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu" from Cahul and partners without budget, representing tourism organizations will be involved in our activities (Cluster VIA Cahul, Comrat University, and Taraclia). The proposed project implementing is supported by the partners’ experience and knowledge in designing, implementing, and developing institutional research policies and strategies, offering support to all members of the academic community for initiating and managing scientific research projects and disseminating their outcomes through relevant publications. The tourism, business and sustainable development are among the research and education domains with demonstrated expertise for successful projects for both partners. The novelty of the approach is consisting in the joint support for tourism promoting, based on one hand on using the modern digital tools- the virtual map and platform, and on the other hand,facilitating knowledge sharing and transfer in tourism, through knowledge events within the project. Interactive online map featuring tourist, cultural, educational, culinary, and sports attractions in Galați County and the Southern Development Region of Moldova (Cahul, UTA Găgăuzia, Taraclia).

Expected Achievements (EN):

Enhancing cross-border tourism within the project area by creating a virtual platform for cross border tourism to showcase cultural and natural heritage for the cross-border area of Galati County, Cahul District and ATU Gagauzia and developing a network for knowledge in sustainable tourism, within 18 months.
