Innovative Rooms

Innovative Rooms project is preparing a development project and a collaborative platform that brings together Nordic cultural actors, technology developers, and educators. During the preparatory project, preliminary mappings will be carried out for the technological implementation of the platform, including technical requirements specification with operators, the preparation of a cost estimate, and the determination of the AV equipment required for the demonstration. The project aims to carry out a technology demonstration so that actors in different sectors can have a view of the possibilities of the platform. The preparatory project identifying suitable actors for the project and invites interested parties to a joint workshop and demonstration event. The technological portion will test low-latency technology and test how the equipment can be utilized for remote learning in performing arts, music, game development, robotics, technology development, and technology and culture.

Innovative Rooms (IR) has prepared a larger project proposal and a cross-border network that brings together Nordic cultural actors, partners in the creative sector, technology developers and educators. Cross-border cooperation has been essential for the project, as different sectors of society can benefit from the new technology. During the preparatory project, a preliminary survey has been carried out for stakeholder analysis and for the technological implementation of the concept, including technical requirements specifications for operators, the preparation of a cost estimate, and identifying the AV equipment required for future implementation in the regions. In the Innovative Rooms project a workshop for stakeholders in different sectors has been carried out to view the possibilities of the low latency concept. The Innovative Rooms project has contributed primarily to the following UN SDG:s: 10 reduced inequalities, 11 sustainable cities and communities, 4 quality education and 9 industry, innovation and infrastructure. This has been done by creating a welcoming and inclusive structure but also through outreach and being there as ongoing support for the stakeholders and participants in the project. In the innovative Rooms project suitable partners have been identified for a larger project. Possible stakeholders have been invited to a joint workshop "With the Speed of Light". The workshop has featured content creation, low-latency technology and showcased how the equipment can be used for remote learning in performing arts, technology development as well as cross-pollination between tech and culture. During the workshop days, there were informal discussions on possible cooperations between the performing arts, robotics and game development. In IR the stakeholders' needs have been assessed through meetings and a survey and they have been formulated in a joint project proposal and the cooperation has led to letters of intent. As a preparatory project the focus has been on stakeholder needs, sharing of knowledge between stakeholders and technical prerequisites for coming activities. The results have be communicated in a public article at Centria Bulletin that has be distributed to project partners and all stakeholders for dissemination of results and for further sharing. The final report and project results will be published to the project partner¿s webpages and to Remote North members. https://net.centria.fi/en/project/innovative-rooms/ The main result of the project is that cross border cooperation partners have been targeted and the stakeholder needs have been assessed for a larger scale project which will support Digitalisation of culture and the creative sector e.g. in remote learning in music and language as well as support game development. The technical solutions have been assessed and presented. All this has been formulated in a project proposal for a three year Interreg Aurora project ANSEL - Access the North with the Speed of Light, where project partners and stakeholders have committed to cooperation. The future project focuses towards improving the lives of the stakeholders, entrepreneurs, audiences and citizens of the collaborative regions, to bring about development in the regions and to bring about cohesion among the regions. The plan supports cross border know how and capacity building in the digitalisation of culture and the creative sector. This gives the small-scale businesses in the Aurora region the possibility to grow and develop the region. This enables the organic upscaling of knowledge, of working remotely and of the quality of work, cultural and artistic expressions. How you can truly work together in a high qualitative way over large distances, which enables people to stay in their region of choice and work from there, while still being part of a larger scale cross-border professional development scene.
