The PR.O.GR.E.S.S project (Promoting Opportunities, Growth, and Education for Social Success) addresses the challenges faced by people with disabilities (PWDs) in Puglia and Calabria (Italy), and Achaia (Greece). It aligns with the Interreg VI-A Greece-Italy 2021-2027 Programme's objective to enhance equal access to education, training, and lifelong learning by focusing on accessible infrastructure and resilient solutions for online and distance education. The main objectives are: 1. Research and Analysis: Conduct joint cross-border research to analyze the employment landscape for PWDs, identify challenges, opportunities, and technological tools, and promote knowledge transfer and good practices; 2. Framework development: Design an inclusive cross-border training framework for distance and in-person learning, enhancing employability skills and workplace awareness while ensuring transparency around disabilities; 3. Cross-border collaboration: Foster collaboration between Italy and Greece to understand PWD integration challenges, create a joint platform to match PWDs' skills with employer needs, and exchange good practices; 4. Pilot testing and Evaluation: Test the framework through pilots in both countries, involve awarded matching cases, and refine the framework based on participant feedback. Goals to be achieved: 1. Introduce innovative social-work inclusion processes for PWDs through technology and digital innovations, adhering to National and European regulations; 2. Develop cross-border standards for home automation to support smart working and inclusion of PWDs; 3. Define shared guidelines for social and labor inclusion services for PWDs; 4. Enhance methodologies, tools, and competencies in public and private systems in Italy and Greece to improve job placement for PWDs. By leveraging cross-border cooperation, PR.O.GR.E.S.S aims to create a more inclusive, accessible, and supportive environment for PWDs in education and the labor market.
