Contribution to wider strategies and policies:

  • EUStrategyBalticSeaRegion Project supports PA Tourism. Tourism plays an important role in the European economy, especially in generating growth and jobs. Project supports developing the Baltic Sea region as a common tourism destination. Tourism is often a key sector in rural areas. It offers an economic incentive to stay in the countryside, and gives people pride in their traditions, in their cultural and natural heritage. It stimulates investment in infrastructure, and thus helps achieve balanced territorial development in the region. Tourism sector has by its very nature to be sustainable, responsible, innovative and entrepreneurial. Project also contributes to HA Capacity – Capacity building and involvement. A key factor of success for the EUSBSR is the integrated and coordinated governance of the Baltic Sea region, between sectors of society as well as between regional and local authorities, business, academia, civil society organisations and other stakeholders in the respective countries. Through active involvement of all potential stakeholders in promoting and implementing the goals of the EUSBSR and its Action Plan we can ensure, that the words are translated into action. Project also contributes to HA Neighbours – Creating added value to the Baltic Sea cooperation by working with neighbouring countries and regions. Participation in key Baltic Sea region events to promote practical achievements and potential of cooperation with neighbouring countries and their stakeholders.
  • Other EC study regarding functional areas. The investments into tourism services and infrastructure will facilitate inclusive growth and social innovations, environmental and economic sustainability of the local communities and cross border regions. At the same time, the project's aim is to strengthen the general understanding on these interactions and ability to ensure the viable and long-term effects of the envisaged sustainable transformation of sustainable tourism sector.
  • Other New European Bauhaus initiative where the project will implement practices, and experiences that are enriching, inspired by culture, responding to needs beyond functionality; sustainable, in harmony with nature, the environment; inclusive, encouraging a dialogue across cultures, disciplines, genders and
  • ages.
  • Other Delivering the European Green Deal. Boosting global climate action. We can only solve the global threat of climate change by working with our international partners. Joint tourism initiatives for maitenance and restoration of cultural and natural heritage sites will contribute to these initiatves.
  • Other Border orientation paper. Establish integrated and sustainable cross border strategy for tourism based on historical, natural and cultural heritage products and services, tying together existing assets and already created from previous projects cross border tourism products.
  • Other Needs and potential analysis for the cross border cooperation programme - Interreg 2021-2027 between Lithuania and Poland. Project contributes to widen possibilities by promoting tourism attraction places, creating new tourism services for existing tourism routes.
