Description (EN):

Less serious diseases diagnosed in time are much easier to treat and can save lives. In some cases, early detection means smaller surgery and simpler therapy, so the patient can return to work sooner, which is better for the national economy and places less of a burden on the health care system. However, screening tests cannot be performed without a suitable quality device. In our project, we want to improve the equipment system of hospital radiology care by purchasing ultrasound devices, and then using the equipment to perform abdominal, carotid and gynecological screenings, by jointly developing and applying professional protocols, and by raising the care to a common level. Examining the supply area of the partners, the lack of able-bodied, healthy labor force necessary to improve the performance and competitiveness of the economy and the declining population were formulated as a common problem. The reasons for this are, in addition to the declining birth rate, the high death rate and the relative backwardness of the provision of benefits. Hospitals have radiological care facilities, which are closely connected to the areas providing acute and chronic care, as well as outpatient care, but the equipment is amortized and their quantity is insufficient. The planned screenings will be carried out with ultrasound equipment, which is a test of outstanding importance among imaging tests, as it can be performed quickly, is harmless, and can be repeated indefinitely. The image quality of the modern devices is excellent, the content of the information obtained from the examination basically determines the way the patient is treated, and the repeated examination is also suitable for monitoring the condition. The innovative element of the tender is that the results of the screening tests are analyzed and compared by the partners in both the implementation and maintenance phases and, if necessary, they jointly develop an action plan to improve the results.

Expected Achievements (EN):

The project is closely aligned with objective 2.1, its main goal is to ensure equal access to health care by implementing screening tests, acquiring ultrasounds necessary for operation, and developing professional protocols. In the long term, the measures contribute to reducing premature and avoidable deaths, increasing life expectancy, increasing the number of years lived in health, and ensuring that residents living in the area receive care close to their place of residence.
