Description (EN):

The project aims to strengthen the governance and implementation capacity of EUSALP by improving coherence between the Revised Action Plan of the Strategy, the decisions of the General Assembly, and the 2026–2028 Action Group Work Plans. A key component is the reinforcement of the Secretariat, which will act as a strategic working unit delivering services to the Presidencies, the Executive Board, the Board of Action Group Leaders, their joint meetings, and the Action Groups, ensuring effective coordination across all levels. To guarantee informed decision-making and efficient steering, the project will establish a robust monitoring system covering all governance components and their interrelations. This system will provide evidence-based insights for evaluating progress and guiding strategic adjustments. In parallel, communication will be enhanced to increase the visibility of EUSALP, support knowledge sharing, and maximize the impact of outcomes at regional, national, and European levels. The project is organized into five Work Packages. WP1 focuses on the overall implementation of the Strategy and on strengthening the governance framework. WP2–WP3- WP4 cover the activities of Action Groups, the annual Presidencies, and youth initiatives, fostering collaboration, innovation, and policy alignment. WP5 supports transversal communication actions, ensuring that all stakeholders, from regional authorities to EU decision-makers, can access, use, and integrate project outcomes into their own policies.

Expected Achievements (EN):

To provide the key governance bodies and implementers with the administrative and operational support in their coordination and implementation functions when executing the revised Action Plan and the objectives of the Strategy To strengthen operational capacity and horizontal coordination of the 9 AGs by supporting implementation of work plans, fostering cross-sectoral synergies through BAGL coordination, and enhancing dissemination of AG achievements To provide operational support to the rotating EUSALP Presidencies, ensuring smooth transitions, effective delivery of presidential priorities aligned with the Action Plan, and successful organization of high-level political events WP4 will improve the relevance of youth involvement. Activities will be integrated by more widespread initiatives at the national level, through a project to be submitted under ERASMUS+, for ensuring complementarity in strengthening the role of youth This Work package’s communication strategy is designed to go beyond informing EUSALP core governance and stakeholders, and responds to the EC’s call for broader engagement and visibility of MRSs.

EUStrategyAlpineRegion The project directly implements EUSALP governance support. It ensures strategy implementation through secretariat services supporting all nine Actions. Facilitates presidency coordination, enhances embedding support in EU programmes, strengthens the connection between strategic objectives and territorial implementation, and addresses the three transitions (green, digital, fair) across all policy pillars in line with the revised Action Plan
EuropeanGreenDeal Supporting EUSALP's carbon-neutral transition objective by facilitating coordination of green transition initiatives, supporting energy and climate action groups, enabling knowledge transfer on sustainable practices, and ensuring coherent implementation of environmental policies across Alpine territories in line with European Green Deal priorities
