Description (EN):

Companies, universities and cultural centres created a dynamic network centred on digital technologies. Today, this network allows stimulation of the economic growth potential and consolidation of the competitiveness and attractiveness of the cross-border area. To boost creativity and innovation, the knowledge and know-how of digital technology research centres and high-tech companies are used in various artistic projects, workshops and symposiums.

Achievements (EN):

Project status as of 30 June 2012 - 8 cross-border seminars (themes: working arrangements artists-researchers-companies, interactivity, new production and creation supports, contactless technologies, speech synthesis, 3D-images, innovative textiles, challenges for the body in the digital era, open design, serious games, ...). - Visits to artistic and cultural sites and to research laboratories (prototype demonstration, presentation of new artistic projects, combining arts and new technologies). - Development of prospective and visibility actions and of public info sessions. - Explanatory brochure. - Artists and scientific collaborators meetings. - Organisation of 19 workshops (themes: motion capture and real-time animation systems, interactive processes, remote control modules, immersive technologies, digital writing techniques, RFID and location-based media, innovative textiles, ...). - 50 artists and companies have been assisted in 68 projects. - The main characteristic of all the projects was that the artists were well supported by companies, laboratories and research centres - Cookbook publication The three-part Cookbook series was launched in 2010. Each year a new edition presented connections between art and new technologies. Thanks to the participation of specialised editors, artists, scientists and companies with experience in the matter, the Cookbook set has become an international reference work, far beyond the cross-border area. - Creation of an informal database with contact details of the main actors in the field. - 22 press actions (2 press conferences, 130 articles, 10 reports).
