De nouvelles bouteilles de lait en plastique sont apparues récemment sur le marché. Lorsque leurs déchets sont mélangés à ceux des bouteilles d’eau, la matière obtenue ne peut plus être recyclée. La présence de ces nouvelles bouteilles constitue donc une menace importante pour la filière du recyclage, très représentée dans la zone du POCTEFA. Les acteurs du territoire constatent déjà une perte de valeur des matériaux qu’ils recyclent. Le maintien et le renforcement de cette filière dans la zone POCTEFA passe par la création de nouveaux débouchés pour le recyclage de ces bouteilles. La stratégie de spécialisation intelligente des régions de la zone POCTEFA permettra de relever ce défi à travers le projet REVALPET. Un réseau de d’acteurs industriels et de la R&D, des deux côtés de la frontière, mettra en commun des compétences autour des matériaux avancés et des nanotechnologies, pour développer des matériaux innovants à partir des déchets de nouvelles bouteilles de lait. REVALPET ira jusqu’à la fabrication de pièces prototypes et l’évaluation pré-industrielle de leurs performances. Nous visons la fabrication de matériaux commercialisables possédant de hautes performances mécaniques, ce qui constitue une innovation importante dans le domaine du recyclage. En faisant d’un déchet une ressource porteuse d’innovation et de valeur ajoutée, REVALPET contribuera à l’objectif zéro déchet que se sont donné les régions de la zone POCTEFA pour les prochaines décennies.

Description (EN):

New plastic bottles of milk appeared recently on the market. When their waste is mixed to those of the bottles of water, the obtained material cannot be recycled anymore. The presence of these new bottles thus threatens the sector of the recycling, very represented in the zone of the POCTEFA. The actors of the territory already notice a loss of value of the materials they recycle. The preservation and the strengthening of this sector in the POCTEFA zone supposes the creation of new outlets for recycling of these bottles. The strategy of smart specialization of the regions of the POCTEFA zone will allow to address this challenge through the REVALPET project. A network of industrial and R&D actors, on both sides of the border, will share skills around advanced materials and nanotechnologies, to develop innovative materials from new bottles of milk waste. REVALPET will go as far as manufacturing of prototype pieces and pre-industrial evaluation of their performances. We aim at fabricating marketable materials possessing high mechanical performances, which is an important innovation in the field of the recycling. By transforming a waste into a resource with innovation and added value potentialities, REVALPET will contribute to the “zero waste” objective that the regions of the POCTEFA zone gave themselves for the next decades.

Recientemente han salido al mercado unas nuevas botellas plásticas para la leche. Una vez usadas, su combinación con los residuos provenientes de las botellas de agua es problemático ya que el material resultante no es reciclable. La presencia de estas nuevas botellas constituye pues una amenaza importante para el sector del reciclaje, muy representado en la zona del POCTEFA. De hecho, los representantes territoriales del sector del reciclaje ya comprueban una pérdida de valor en dicho producto. El mantenimiento y fortalecimiento de este sector en la zona POCTEFA pasa por la creación de nuevas salidas para estos productos. La estrategia de especialización inteligente de las regiones de la zona POCTEFA permitirá afrontar este desafío a través del proyecto REVALPET. Una red de industriales y grupos de I+D a ambos lados de la frontera pondrán en común competencias relacionadas con materiales avanzados y nanotecnología para desarrollar materiales innovadores a partir del residuo de estas nuevas botellas. REVALPET llegará hasta la fabricación de piezas prototipos y la evaluación pre-industrial de su desempeño. Proponemos la fabricación de materiales comercializables con altas prestaciones mecánicas, lo que constituye una innovación importante en el sector del reciclaje. Haciendo del residuo un recurso portador de innovación y de valor añadido, REVALPET contribuirá al objetivo "cero residuo" en las regiones de la zona POCTEFA para las décadas próximas.

Achievements (FR):

Le projet RevalPET a permis de caractériser le PET opaque et d’étudier la façon de le transformer, de l’associer à d’autres plastiques pour aboutir à des matériaux aux propriétés conformes aux besoins des industriels. Les chercheurs et les différents intervenants du projet ont partagé les étapes de la recherche et les défis auxquels ils ont été confrontés. Une table ronde, autour des enjeux auxquels font face les différents acteurs de la filière du tri et de la collecte des déchets en PET Opaque, a également été organisée.

Achievements (EN):

The RevalPET project has made it possible to characterise opaque PET and to study how to transform it, to combine it with other plastics to result in materials with properties that meet the needs of manufacturers. Researchers and different stakeholders in the project shared the stages of the research and the challenges they faced. A round table, around the challenges faced by the various stakeholders in the waste sorting and collection sector in PET Opaque, was also organised.
