Austria’s and Hungary’s joint natural heritage in the West Pannonian area is characterized by a diversity that is unique in Europe, moreover it can be experienced throughout the year due to the special topography and climate of the region – a repository of opportunities the cross-border aspects of which have only been partly made use of so far.The main goals of the project are therefore: the coordinated use of natural and cultural heritage, through developing the network of West Pannonian nature and national parks established in 2008, that have been keeping close contact with the key actors of regional development, and the development and optimization of sustainable, cross-border, accessible (barrier-free) nature-tourism offers. Further important aims of the project are the common quantitative and qualitative development of visitor programs in the nature and national parks; the mutual definition of nature tourism; the perfection of opportunities that establish nature experience, and serve environmental education, and awareness-raising purposes; developing the activities and infrastructure that allow nature experience to be accessible to people with special needs; furthermore increasing the involvement of tourism organizations in an effort to prolong the nature tourism seasons. The project partners evaluate the specific demands for the development of nature tourism services on both sides of the border in an effort to determine a joint approach and joint marketing strategy for the future positioning and design of these services. Tourism strategies in both countries resp. areas underline the importance of intact nature for their marketing – the acceptance to communicate new nature experience programs is therefore quite high. This establishes a cooperation that is not only cross-border but cross-sectoral (nature protection - tourism - education) in its nature that all professional fields of the border region can benefit from similarly.

Das gemeinsame Naturerbe Österreichs und Ungarns im westpannonischen Raum ist geprägt von einer europaweit einzigartigen Vielfalt, die aufgrund der topografischen und klimatischen Bedingungen das ganze Jahr über erlebt werden kann - ein Potential was bisher nur ansatzweise genutzt wird. Übergeordnete Projektziele sind deshalb eine koordinierte Inwertsetzung dieses Naturerbes auf der Basis eines - seit 2008 bestehenden - Netzwerks von Schutzgebietsverwaltungen, die ihrerseits hervorragend mit den Schlüsselakteuren in der Regionalentwicklung vernetzt sind sowie die Entwicklung und Optimierung von nachhaltigen grenzüberschreitenden, barrierefreien und innovativen naturtouristischen Angeboten. Weitere wichtige Projektziele sind die gemeinsame qualitative und quantitative Weiterentwicklung der Besucherprogramme in den Schutzgebieten, die Entwicklung eines gemeinsamen Verständnisses für Naturtourismus, ergänzende Umweltbildungs- und Sensibilisierungsmaßnahmen, die Entwicklung von Programmen und Infrastruktur für Menschen mit Behinderung sowie die Verlängerung der Naturtourismus-Saison durch die stärkere Einbindung der Tourismusorganisationen. Auf beiden Seiten der Grenze klären die Projektpartner den konkreten Handlungsbedarf in der Angebotsentwicklung für den Naturtourismus ab, um daraus eine gemeinsame Herangehensweise für die künftige Positionierung und das Angebotsdesign festzulegen. Die Tourismusstrategien beider Länder bzw. Regionen stellen die unerreicht hohe Bedeutung intakter Natur für das Marketing außer Frage – die Bereitschaft, neue Naturerlebnisangebote in Richtung der Zielgruppen zu kommunizieren, ist also groß. Damit ist nicht nur eine grenzüberschreitende, sondern auch eine sektorübergreifende (Naturschutz – Tourismus – Bildung) Zusammenarbeit gewährleistet, von der alle Bereiche in der Grenzregion gleichermaßen profitieren können.

Ausztria és Magyarország közös természeti örökségét Nyugat-Pannónia térségében Európa-szerte egyedülálló sokféleség jellemzi, amely a topográfiai és éghajlati tényezőknek köszönhetően egész évben átélhető, a lehetőségek olyan tárháza, amelynek hasznosítása idáig csak részben történt meg. A projekt legfőbb céljai ezért egyrészt ennek a természeti örökségnek a koordinált hasznosítása védett természeti területeket képviselő szervezetek - 2008 óta működő - hálózatának alapjain, akik kiváló kapcsolatot ápolnak a regionális fejlesztés kulcsszereplőivel, másrészt a fenntartható, határon átnyúló, akadálymentes és innovatív természetturisztikai kínálatok fejlesztése és optimalizálása. Mindemellett a fontosabb projektcélok a védett területek látogatóprogramjainak minőségi és mennyiségi közös továbbfejlesztése, a természet-turizmus közös értelmezésének kialakítása, kiegészítő környezeti nevelési, szemléletformálási tevékenységek, a fogyatékkal élők számára a programok és infrastruktúrák fejlesztése, valamint a turisztikai szervezetek szorosabb bevonásával a természetturisztikai szezon meghosszabbítása. A projektpartnerek a határ mindkét oldalán rögzítik a természetturisztikai kínálatfejlesztés konkrét szükségleteit azért, hogy azok alapján közös megközelítési módot határozzanak meg és közös marketing tevékenységet folytassanak a kínálatok jövőbeni pozícionálására és kialakítására. Mindkét ország, illetve a régiók turizmusstratégiája szerint nem férhet kétség az érintetlen természet jelentőségéhez marketing szempontokból – magas tehát a hajlandóság az új természeti élmény kínálatok célcsoportok irányába történő kommunikációjára. Ezzel nemcsak határon átnyúló, hanem ágazatokon átívelő (természetvédelem – turizmus – képzés) együttműködés jön létre, amelyből a határtérség minden szakterülete hasonlóképpen profitálhat.

Expected Outputs (HU): Az innovatív kínálatok optimalizálása (3 vezértermék), a természeti élmény közös hasznosítása, ill. az akadálymentes természetturisztikai infrastruktúrafejlesztések közvetlenül járulnak hozzá a PaNaNet térségbeli tartózkodási idő emelkedéséhez.
