PyrenEOS vise à développer la première plateforme transfrontalière dans les Pyrénées. Conçue comme un service, basé sur les capacités de télédétection dérivés de l’usage des images satellites du système d’observation terrestre européen Copernicus, permettra de tester un portefeuille de 5 outils innovants découlant de l'utilisation d'images satellite, visant à une utilisation efficace des ressources naturelles et à la gestion des risques naturels dans le domaine de la gestion de l'eau, des sols agricoles et de la couverture forestière. Le projet fait face à des défis technologiques importants qui ont conduit à la composition d'un grand consortium de 8 partenaires et 2 associés (acteurs institutionnels, universités et centres de recherche, entreprises de développement TIC et utilisateurs finaux). Ils mènent un projet de recherche industrielle appliquée à haut niveau d'intensité en coopération et connaissance.

PyrenEOS tiene como objetivo desarrollar la primera plataforma transfronteriza que, concebida como un servicio basado en las capacidades de teledetección derivadas del uso de imagen satelital hipertemporal ofrecidas por el programa Copernicus, desarrollará y testará una cartera de 5 herramientas innovadoras, orientadas a un uso eficiente de los recursos naturales y a la gestión de riesgos naturales en los ámbitos de la gestión del agua, la gestión de cultivos agrícolas y las cubiertas forestales. El proyecto afronta importantes retos tecnológicos que han llevado a la composición de un amplio consorcio de 8 socios y 2 asociados con competencias complementarias (autoridades regionales, universidades y centros de investigación, empresas desarrolladoras de servicios TIC, usuarios finales), que ejecuta un proyecto de investigación industrial aplicada de un alto nivel de intensidad en cooperación y conocimiento. PyrenEOS testará con carácter piloto 5 herramientas con carácter demostrativo en territorios de Navarra, Pirineos Atlánticos y País Vasco. No obstante, es vocación del proyecto el que éstos se puedan extender a todo el territorio del Pirineo, así como el que se desarrollen nuevas herramientas sobre la plataforma. PyrenEOS es en definitiva un servicio de gran potencial para el desarrollo de nuevas herramientas a partir del uso de imágenes satelitales para la gestión de recursos naturales así como para su aplicación en otros sectores de actividad.

Description (EN):

PyrenEOS project aims at developing the first cross-border platform that based on the capabilities of remote sensing derived from the use of hyper temporal satellite images offered by the European Copernicus programme, will allow developing and testing a portfolio of 5 innovative tools. The Platform, incepted as a service, and such tools, will contribute to a more efficient use of natural resources and a better management of natural risks in the fields of water, agricultural crops and forest management. The project faces significant technological challenges that have led to the composition of a large consortium of 8 partners and 2 associated partners with complementary competencies (regional authorities, universities and research centres, ICT companies and end-users of services) implementing an industrial and applied research project showcasing high intensity cooperation and knowledge levels. PyrenEOS will develop and test 5 tools developed with a demonstrative character in Navarra, Basque Country and Pyrenees Atlantiques. However, the project ultimately aims to the extension of the platform and pilot tools to the whole of the Pyrenees territory, and to the further development of additional tools. PyrenEOS is ultimately a service with a great potential for the development of new tools based upon the use of satellite images for the improvement of the efficiency on the use of natural resources, as well as for its application on other fields of activity.

Le projet Pyreneos se termine avec succès: Malgré la crise sanitaire, les partenaires du projet Pyreneos ont continué le développement de services innovants dans les domaines de l’eau, de l’agriculture et de la forêt. Basés notamment sur des données satellites, ces nouveaux outils permettront d’améliorer la gestion des forêts, l’analyse des risques d’inondation, ou bien les techniques agricoles.

Achievements (EN):

The Pyreneos project successfully ends: Despite the health crisis, Pyreneos project partners continued the development of innovative water, agriculture and forest services. Based in particular on satellite data, these new tools will improve forest management, flood risk analysis, or agricultural techniques.
