Description (EN):

Mediterranean countries need to reduce energy consumption and adverse environmental impacts due to the high dependence on fossil fuels. GreenBuilding project intends to tackle this challenge by promoting the use of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency measures in public buildings since renewable energies represent a natural competitive advantage for the Mediterranean. The project will support 3 cost-effective public buildings energy refurbishment in Greece, Tunisia and Jordan. Furthermore, it will strengthen the capacities of public institutions to effectively plan and implement sustainable energy policies, through the identification of cost-effective energy refurbishment approaches, transfer of technical know-how and the enhancement of higher research institutions, energy SMEs and business support organizations.

Achievements (EN):

GreenBuilding project promoted the use of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency measures in public buildings in Mediterranean area. The project supported 3 cost-effective public buildings energy refurbishment in Greece, Tunisia and Jordan! This experience enabled the GreenBuilding team (energy managers, decision makers, public authorities, academics) to co-design a manual for building energy refurbishment into nearly zero energy buildings, nZEB.

Expected Results (EN):

5 training seminars dedicated to SMEs and public authorities. 1 manual for building energy refurbishment towards Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings. 3 pilot projects for the energy refurbishment of public buildings in Greece, Tunisia and Jordan. 3 energy audits carried out on the refurbished buildings. 7 best practices identified and analysed in the field of building energy refurbishment. 1 e-tool for monitoring the energy performance of refurbished buildings.

3.1 - Energy certificates of the buildings, 3.2 - Study for the energy refurbishment of the Building in Greece, 3.3 - Study for the energy refurbishment of the Building in Tunisia, 3.4 - Study for the energy refurbishment of the Building in Jordan, 3.5 - Evaluation reports, 4.1 - Report on the Energy refurbishment of the building in Greece, 4.2 - Report on the Energy refurbishment of the building in Tunisia, 4.3 - Report on the Energy refurbishment of the Building in Jordan, 4.4 - E-tool (application) for monitoring of each building, 4.5 - Energy certificates of the refurbished buildings, 5.1 - Best Practices for building energy refurbishment, 5.2 - Report on new/revised procedures for the energy building refurbishment, 5.3 - Training seminars/courses, 5.4 - Manual for Building energy refurbishment into nZEBs.
