RegiaMobil aims at enhancing the mobility of people living in rural areas through smart public transport solutions and hence at improving their access to the European and national transport networks. It focuses on improving the accessibility of peripheral and border regions to the TEN-T and CNC. To that aim RegiaMobil capitalises on outputs resulting from four Interreg Central Europe projects (Rumobil, SubNodes, Shareplace, Connect2CE) which, enriched by results of HORIZON 2020 operations (MaaS4EU, MoTiV, SIADE) in the domain of smart public transport, are prepared for roll-out and mainstreaming in more Central European rural areas. This downstreaming approach is implemented through six pilots aiming to demonstrate the transferability and added value of smart public transport approaches for better mobility services in rural areas as well as two action plans highlighting how the Transnational Strategy provided by the Rumobil project can be applied by other regional public authorities responsible for the planning and conducting public transport. Smart mobility solutions allowing to change the understanding of public transport rather as a demand-responsive mobilty service than as a commodity are closely linked to ICT solutions that have not yet penetrated peripheral regions. RegiaMobil therefore aims to demonstrate the transnational transferability and effectiveness of already developed approaches for a smart and demand-responsive public transport to promote and prepare their mainstreaming. The innovative character of the identified approaches is further highlighted through the integration of latest research results to better understand to what extent smart mobility services can be implemented, how investment decisions' effectiveness for the quality of mobility services become measurable, and how big data helps to identify mobility demands. RegiaMobil bundles on transnational level the experiences of public authorities, research and PT operators.

Expected Results (EN): R 4.1 Status of coordinated planning capacities of the public sector and related entitites for regional passengers transport systems linked to national and European transport networks achieved through transnational cooperation.

Expected Outputs (EN):

RegiaMobil facilitates the transfer and adoption of smart mobility solutions that have already proven their effectiveness in Interreg pilot or Horizon demonstration actions. These approaches have been selected by the importing partner that has checked their operational feasibility. In addition, partners responsible for the transfer (import and realisation of RegiaMobil WP T2 demonstration projects) have the legal responsibility for public transport in the addressed towns and regions, and therefore can commit the necessary resources to guarantee their institutional, political and financial durability. Transferred smart mobility solutions and action plans elaborated to spur the further uptake of smart mobility approaches in the territories of two associated partners will lead to tangible improvements in the mobility of residents of peripheral areas and the access to the TEN-T and CNC for passenger public transport in Europe. The cooperation between public authorities, public agencies responsible for the organisation of public transport on one hand and research institutions as well as a reknown public transport consultancy allows to bundle knowledge of both Interreg practical experiences and latest research findings, buidling capacities of public transport stakeholders and policy actors of Central Europe. Moreover, the bundled learning of previous projects and new experiences made in the transfer of smart mobility solutions are integrated in an updated Transnational Strategy and corresponding tool-box that provides ready-to-use methodologies to public transport stakeholders of other areas. RegiaMobil partners have furthermore the capacity to communicate outputs and results of the operation to new audiences using the European networks of policy-makers and public transport researchers. The learning will furthermore be shared at a public event in Brussels which will be coordinated with DCRN (Demographic Change Regions Network), and in the form of a project movie.
