DOKS: Dans i Öresund-Kattegatt-Skagerack

Projektet DOKS syftar till att stärka den gränsöverskridande arbetsmarknaden för danskonstnärer i Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak-regionen, med särskilt fokus på det fria dansfältet. Detta fält omfattar mindre danskompanier och frilansande konstnärer som ofta arbetar under osäkra anställningsvillkor på en fragmenterad arbetsmarknad. Genom att underlätta konkreta utbyten och samarbeten över gränserna mellan Sverige, Danmark och Norge, strävar projektet efter att skapa fler och bättre arbetsmöjligheter för dessa yrkesverksamma. RfD (Rum för Dans), Bora Bora och Bærum Kulturhus är tre etablerade aktörer inom dans- och kultursektorn i Sverige, Danmark och Norge. Tillsammans bidrar de med bred erfarenhet av produktion, utveckling och främjande av danskonst på både regional och internationell nivå. Genom sina långvariga engagemang inom det fria dansfältet har de byggt upp betydande resurser och nätverk, vilket gör dem väl rustade att leda projektet DOKS. Alla tre organisationerna har tidigare erfarenhet av att driva dansprojekt, stötta professionella danskonstnärer och skapa plattformar för gränsöverskridande samarbeten inom kultursektorn Projektet fokuserar på att skapa konkreta gränsöverskridande utbyten där danskonstnärer och andra yrkesverksamma inom sektorn får möjlighet att mötas och utbyta erfarenheter. Genom strukturerade utbyten som varar från 2 till 10 dagar arrangeras workshops, seminarier och andra interaktiva sessioner. Dessa aktiviteter främjar gemensamt lärande och ökar förståelsen för skillnader i arbetsvillkor och förutsättningar mellan länderna. Utbytena är utformade både för grupper och för individuella deltagare, med särskilda teman som kopplas till professionell utveckling inom dans, teknik och produktion. Målet med dessa utbyten är att skapa starkare professionella nätverk, öppna upp nya samarbeten och stimulera innovation inom sektorn. En viktig komponent i projektet är utvecklingen av en digital plattform som kommer att fungera som en central mötesplats för danskonstnärer och andra aktörer i regionen. Plattformen kommer att underlätta informationsdelning, möjliggöra erfarenhetsutbyte och ge yrkesverksamma tillgång till resurser för fortsatt utveckling. Genom att skapa ett strukturerat och sammanhängande arbetsmarknadssystem för dansare, stärker projektet inte bara regionens interna arbetsmarknad utan ökar också sektorns internationella konkurrenskraft. Projektet kommer att aktivt arbeta för att integrera likabehandling och icke-diskriminering i alla aktiviteter. Detta innebär att skapa förutsättningar för att nya målgrupper, inklusive personer med funktionsvariationer, ska kunna delta som både besökare och yrkesverksamma inom danssektorn. Projektet kommer att använda inkluderande kommunikation och förbättrad tillgänglighet för att säkerställa att de som normalt inte har möjlighet att delta kan involveras. Workshops kommer att hållas för att öka medvetenheten om dessa frågor, och kommunikationen kommer att anpassas med inkluderande språk och bilder som representerar olika grupper och deras behov. Sammanfattningsvis tar DOKS itu med de specifika utmaningar som det fria dansfältet står inför, som osäkra arbetsvillkor och begränsade karriärmöjligheter, genom att främja strukturerade gränsöverskridande samarbeten. Om Projektnamnet DOKS är en symbolisk referens till vårt geografiska läge i Norden, där hav och hamnar fungerar som naturliga länkar mellan länderna. Genom att ta bort prickarna på "Ö" i "ÖKS-Öresund Kattegatt Skagerack" vill vi skapa en tydligare koppling till begreppet "docka" eller "hamn," vilket speglar projektets kärna: att fungera som en mötesplats där yrkesverksamma från Öresund-, Kattegatt- och Skagerrak-regionerna kan anknyta, samarbeta och växa tillsammans.

The DOKS project aims to strengthen the cross-border labour market for dance artists in the Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak region, with a special focus on the free dance field. This field includes smaller dance companies and freelance artists who often work under precarious employment conditions in a fragmented labor market. By facilitating concrete cross-border exchanges and collaborations between Sweden, Denmark and Norway, the project aims to create more and better job opportunities for these professionals. RfD (Room for Dance), Bora Bora and Bærum Kulturhus are three established actors in the dance and cultural sector in Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Together they contribute with broad experience in the production, development and promotion of dance art at both regional and international level. Through their long-standing commitment to the free dance field, they have built up significant resources and networks, making them well-equipped to lead the DOKS project. All three organisations have previous experience of running dance projects, supporting professional dance artists and creating platforms for cross-border collaborations in the cultural sector The project focuses on creating concrete cross-border exchanges where dance artists and other professionals in the sector get the opportunity to meet and exchange experiences. Through structured exchanges lasting from 2 to 10 days, workshops, seminars and other interactive sessions are arranged. These activities promote joint learning and increase understanding of differences in working conditions and conditions between countries. The exchanges are designed both for groups and for individual participants, with specific themes linked to professional development in dance, technology and production. The aim of these exchanges is to create stronger professional networks, open up new collaborations and stimulate innovation in the sector. An important component of the project is the development of a digital platform that will serve as a central meeting place for dance artists and other actors in the region. By creating a structured and coherent labour market system for dancers, the project not only strengthens the region's internal labour market, but also increases the sector's international competitiveness. The project will actively work to integrate equal treatment and non-discrimination into all activities. This means creating the conditions for new target groups, including people with disabilities, to participate as both visitors and professionals in the dance sector. The project will use inclusive communication and improved accessibility to ensure that those who are not normally able to participate can be involved. Workshops will be held to raise awareness of these issues, and communication will be adapted with inclusive language and images representing different groups and their needs. In conclusion, DOKS addresses the specific challenges faced by the free dance field, such as precarious working conditions and limited career opportunities, by promoting structured cross-border collaborations. In the long term, this will lead to increased professional mobility, improved cooperation capacity and long-term sustainable competitiveness of the region. The project name DOKS is a symbolic reference to our geographical location in the Nordic region, where seas and ports act as natural links between the countries. By removing the dots on "Ö" in "ÖKS-Öresund Kattegatt Skagerack", we want to create a clearer connection to the concept of "dock" or "port," which reflects the core of the project: to serve as a meeting place where professionals from the Öresund, Kattegat and Skagerrak regions can connect, collaborate and grow together.

DOKS kommer att ge branschen tillgång till tre konkreta resurser: Digital samlingsplats: En plattform för information och kommunikation mellan partners, målgrupper och samhället. Tillgänglig för frilansande danskonstnärer, tekniska yrkesgrupper och kulturinstitutioner, fungerar den som mötesplats för informationsutbyte, nätverkande och samarbete över gränserna. Plattformen gör även regionala erbjudanden tillgängliga för publik och besökare. Gemensamt varumärkesarbete: Ett arbete för att marknadsföra regionen internationellt, öka synlighet och konkurrenskraft, och stärka målgruppernas möjlighet att presentera sina projekt och kompetens, vilket bidrar till fler uppdrag och ekonomisk hållbarhet. Långsiktig samarbetsstrategi: En strategi för fortsatt gränsöverskridande arbete, där projektets erfarenheter omvandlas till riktlinjer med konkreta mål för att konsolidera arbetsmarknaden och stärka relationerna i sektorn. DOKS will give the industry access to three concrete resources: Digital gathering place: A platform for information and communication between partners, target groups and society. Available to freelance dance artists, technical professionals and cultural institutions, it serves as a meeting place for information exchange, networking and cooperation across borders. The platform also makes regional offers available to audiences and visitors. Joint branding work: A work to promote the region internationally, increase visibility and competitiveness, and strengthen the target groups' opportunity to present their projects and skills, which contributes to more missions and financial sustainability. Long-term cooperation strategy: A strategy for continued cross-border work, translating the experience of the project into guidelines with concrete objectives for consolidating the labour market and strengthening relations in the sector. Benefit for the target group: Increased network of contacts: Through the digital platform, the target group gains access to new contacts in the sector and related areas, facilitating future collaborations and strengthening cross-border relationships. The cross-border activities and exchanges of the project also contribute to this. Reducing barriers to cross-border work: Reduce mental barriers to working in neighbouring countries. Both platform and project activities encourage and simplify cross-border collaborations, increasing the target group's interest and ability to engage outside their own national market.
