El Pirineo es un territorio con enormes activos culturales y naturales y potencial turístico. Durante muchos años se han desarrollado infraestructuras y servicios vinculados a la movilidad sostenible en el turismo pero que también da respuesta a las necesidades de la población local. Este desarrollo está alineado con la tendencia al alza de un perfil turístico que apuesta por un estilo de vida saludable y sostenible. Sin embargo, la consolidación de estos productos en este territorio es todavía escasa, por su poca dimensión y visibilidad internacional y por un sector empresarial sin mecanismos de apoyo para adaptarse a las exigencias de estos mercados. GPS Tourism aborda este reto transfronterizo promoviendo la dinamización económica y turística de los Pirineos a través de la cooperación público-privada, apostando por la movilidad suave como estrategia de singularización de la oferta turística y de apoyo a un modelo turístico sostenible. El proyecto busca mejorar la conectividad turística territorial, aumentar su visibilidad internacional a través de un Sello común, adaptar los equipamientos públicos, privados y las empresas a una estrategia de movilidad sostenible, inspirarse en las mejores prácticas europeas, crear nuevos productos turísticos y concebir estructuras de gestión transfronterizas. El aumento de visitantes y la desestacionalización tendrán un claro impacto en la economía local y en la creación de puestos de trabajo en Mipymes del sector.

Les Pyrénées sont un territoire avec d'énormes atouts culturels et naturels et un grand potentiel touristique. Pendant des nombreuses années, ils se sont développé des infrastructures et des services liés à la mobilité durable, alignés avec la tendance à la hausse d'un profil touristique qui met l'accent sur un mode de vie sain et durable. Toutefois, la consolidation de ces produits dans ce territoire est encore limitée par son manque de taille et de visibilité internationale et par un secteur avec des entreprises sans mécanismes de soutien pour s´adapter aux exigences de ces marchés. GPS Tourism relève ce défi transfrontalier par la dynamisation économique et touristique dans les Pyrénées à travers la coopération et les efforts conjoints public-privés, en se fondant sur la mobilité douce comme stratégie de singularisation de l'offre touristique et de soutien d’un modèle de tourisme durable. Le projet vise à améliorer la connectivité touristique territoriale, accroître sa visibilité internationale grâce à un Label commun, à adapter les équipements publics, les établissements privés et les entreprises à une stratégie de mobilité durable inspiré par les meilleures pratiques européennes et à créer des nouveaux produits touristiques et la conception des structures de gestion du tourisme transfrontalier. L'augmentation du nombre de visiteurs et la dessaisonalisation aura un impact évident sur l'économie locale et la création d'emplois dans les MPMEs du secteur.

Description (EN):

The Pyrenees is a territory with abundant cultural and natural assets and a significant tourism potential. For many years, the development of infrastructures and services promoting sustainable mobility in tourism has been important, further giving an answer to local population needs. This development is in line with a growing trend towards a tourism profile that aspires for a sustainable and healthy life style. However, the consolidation of these products in that territory is still weak, given its limited dimension and international visibility, and because of a business sector without support mechanisms to adapt to those market conditions. GPS Tourism tackles this cross border challenge fostering economic and tourism revitalization of the Pyrenees through public and private cooperation, relying on soft mobility as a tourism offer differentiation strategy and a sustainable tourism model prop. The project seeks to improve the territorial tourism connectivity, to increase its international visibility through a common label, to adjust public and private equipment and enterprises to a sustainable mobility strategy, getting inspiration from best European practices, to create new tourism products and to create cross border management structures. The increase of visitors and the de-seasonalisation will have a clear impact in the local economy and in the creation of jobs in the micro-SMEs of the sector.
