Το Έργο αφορά τον εκσυγχρονισμό τεσσάρων οργανισμών ύδρευσης στην Κύπρο και Κρήτη, μέσω της ανάπτυξης έξυπνου λογισμικού και έξυπνων συσκευών παρακολούθησης του δικτύου για διαρροές και προβλήματα ποιότητας, καθώς και της δημιουργίας ενός καινοτόμου συστήματος ελέγχου της πίεσης του δικτύου σε πραγματικό χρόνο. Συγκεκριμένα, το έργο θα ενισχύσει την ικανότητα των οργανισμών ύδρευσης να διαχειρίζονται την ολοένα αυξανόμενη ροή δεδομένων από αισθητήρες τεχνολογίας αιχμής για την παρακολούθηση των δικτύων τους, με στόχο την έγκαιρη διάγνωση προβλημάτων όπως διαρροών και μολύνσεων, μέσω ενός έξυπνου λογισμικού το οποίο θα σχεδιαστεί και θα αναπτυχθεί από του εταίρους. Επιπρόσθετα, θα υλοποιηθεί ένα καινοτόμο σύστημα ελέγχου της πίεσης του δικτύου σε πραγματικό χρόνο με τη χρήση αυτόματων βαλβίδων.

Description (EN):

The project concerns the modernization of four water utilities in Cyprus and Crete through the development of smart software and smart devices for monitoring the network for leakage and quality problems and the creation of an innovative control system network pressure in real time. In particular, the project will enhance the ability of water bodies to manage the ever-increasing flow of data from state-of-the-art sensors to monitor their networks, with the aim of timely diagnosis of problems such as leakages and infections through smart software designed and developed by the partners. In addition, an innovative network pressure control system will be implemented in real time using automatic valves.

Expected Results (EL):

Τα αναμενόμενα αποτελέσματα είναι τα εξής: ● Βελτίωση της ποιότητας υπηρεσιών ύδρευσης προς 350,000 κατοίκους. ● Μείωση του μη-τιμολογημένου νερού και των απωλειών νερού. ● Μείωση του χρόνου ανίχνευσης βλαβών σε αγωγούς ή μολύνσεων νερού. ● Ενίσχυση της ικανότητας ασφάλειας των δικτύων νερού. ● Διασύνδεση των οργανισμών διαχείρισης νερού με ερευνητικά ιδρύματα. ● Βελτίωση της ικανότητας παρακολούθησης των δικτύων νερού. ● Βελτίωση της ικανότητας ελέγχου της πίεσης στα δίκτυα νερού. ● Βελτίωση της ικανότητας των χειριστών να επεξεργαστούν την πληροφορία από μεγάλο όγκο δεδομένων και να λάβουν αποφάσεις. ● Σύσφιξη της συνεργασίας Κύπρου – Ελλάδας/Κρήτης στα θέματα διαχείρισης υδάτινων πόρων με τη χρήση ευφυών δικτύων νερού. ● Ενημέρωση του ευρύ κοινού στα θέματα ευφυών δικτύων νερού μέσω της της υιοθέτησης του Open Science ως επικοινωνιακή στρατηγική του έργου.

Expected Results (EN):

The expected results are the following: ● the Improvement of the quality of water services to 350,000 inhabitants. ● the reduction of non-invoiced water and water losses. ● the reduction of the time to detect damage to pipes or water contamination. ● Strengthening the safety of water networks. ● Linking water management bodies with research institutes. ● Improving the capacity of monitoring water networks. ● Improving pressure control capacity in water networks. ● Improving the ability of operators to process information from a large volume of data and make decisions. ● Closer cooperation of Cyprus - Greece / Crete on water resource management through the use of intelligent water networks. ● Informing the general public on the issues of intelligent water networks through the adoption of Open Science as a communication strategy for the project.

Expected Outputs (EL):

Συγκεκριμένα, οι αναμενόμενες εκροές του έργου περιλαμβάνουν: ● Εγκατάσταση καινούργιων αισθητήρων πίεσης και ποιότητας. ● Εγκατάσταση καινούργιων έξυπνων υδρομετρητών. ● Εγκατάσταση συστήματος ελέγχου βαλβίδων μείωσης πίεσης. ● Ανάπτυξη και εγκατάσταση κεντρικού συστήματος παρακολούθησης και ελέγχου στους οργανισμούς διαχείρισης νερού. ● Ανάπτυξη και δοκιμή επικοινωνιακής πλατφόρμας που να επιτρέπει την ενεργειακά βέλτιστη ροή πληροφορίας χωρίς την ανάγκη τεχνολογικής υποδομής. ● Ανάπτυξη και δοκιμή κινούμενων αισθητήρων οι οποίοι πλέουν στο δίκτυο για εντοπισμό διαρροών. ● Μοντελοποίηση μέρους των δικτύων με βάση το EPANET. ● Ανάπτυξη και εγκατάσταση μοντέλων και λογισμικού το οποίο χρησιμοποιείται για την ανάλυση των δεδομένων, για σκοπούς παρακολούθησης και ελέγχου του συστήματος. ● Ανάπτυξη συνδυαστικών έξυπνων εφαρμογών για τη διευκόλυνση επιτόπιων ελέγχων από τεχνικούς. ● Σχεδιασμός και ανάπτυξη αλγορίθμων για την έξυπνη και ενεργειακά συμφέρουσα δικτύωση των κατανεμημένων αισθητήρων / επενεργητών. ● Εγκατάσταση πλατφόρμας Open Science για την επικοινωνία των αποτελεσμάτων στην ερευνητική κοινότητα αλλά και σε άλλα ενδιαφερόμενα μέρη ● Δημιουργία πλατφόρμας υποδομής έρευνας (research infrastructure) για τη δοκιμή νέων αλγορίθμων πάνω σε πραγματικά δεδομένα. ● Σχεδιασμός και υλοποίηση ψηφιακών εκπαιδευτικών παιχνιδιών για προώθηση των θεμάτων αειφόρου διαχείρισης του νερού. ● Συγγραφή Στρατηγικής Αξιοποίησης και Βιωσιμότητας

Expected Outputs (EN):

The expected outputs of the project include: ● Installation of new pressure and quality sensors. ● Installing new smart meters. ● Installation of a pressure reducing valve control system. ● Development and installation of a central monitoring and control system in water management organizations. ● Developing and testing a communications platform that allows for optimal energy flow of information without the need for technological infrastructure. ● Developing and testing moving sensors that fly to the network for leakage detection. ● Modeling part of the networks based on EPANET. ● Develop and install models and software used to analyze data for system monitoring and control purposes. ● Developing combinational intelligent applications to facilitate on-the-spot checks by technicians. ● Design and development of algorithms for intelligent and energy-efficient networking of distributed sensors / actuators. ● Open Science platform to communicate results to the research community and other stakeholders ● Creating a research infrastructure platform to test new algorithms on real data. ● Design and implementation of digital educational games to promote the issues of sustainable water management. ● Preparation of Sustainability Strategy
